Why! Hello there, Master Cree! Been forever, it seems, since I've seen ya.
I'm hanging out at home tonight. Alyson is in her crib and Becky is with my sister over at a friend's house, so I decided I would stop in and visit my friends for a bit.
How are things with you? Jeanne?
[sip] Eeeeevenninnn... so, are you ready for a weekend or what?
Taglinus alterus.
But it is always a blessed relief to know that I do NOT have to go back to work tomorrow.
This week was complete cheese, Monday thru Friday!!
Air currents are detectable a certain power outputs.
Certain IR jamming equipment under development at this moment heats up air arond the aircraft, creating odd hot spots.
Sometimes the disturbance itself from the heating is strong enough to be detected.
One way to detect a stealth aircraft is to detect the wake turbulance that it leaves behind it.
That is possible regardless of moisture content, but whether or not it is reliable or the info can be filtered enough for use is another story.
When radar starts detecting air disturbances, it detects quite alot of stuff, so filtering the info gathered and paring it down to useful info is difficult at best.
We're good, looking forward, I hope, to seeing the kids, if they'll come home for a couple days.
We'll have to get together some time soon, Ruthy. I'll find out from Jeanne when we can.
I can't get over this breezy weather, seems more like March than May.
Did it work?
Or is it back to shake down this guy I ran ibto with really big ears who ran a bar?
Good tagline. Says nothing about the strength of wimmin. I'm stinkin' tired. Early night tonight, I think.
Oh, and the weather is terrific! I really enjoy sneaking out of the office during the day for a few minutes to let the wind blow on my face. We both know that once "summer" arrives, we'll be begging for any kind of breeze at all!
OK, that makes sense, kind of, that the turbulence caused by a plane might be detected, what with temperature differences.
But I am assuming that radar cannot detect clear air turbulence that has no machinery associated with it.
Good evening, Jen!
How was your day? Sounds like it was a bit of a drag.
This is gonna play hell with my antigravity experiments. Dang it.
One of the early high powered radar systems detected simple air currents, like heavy breezes and such.
The main problem at the time wasn't power output, but filtering the data.
Anything that would disturb a smple radio signal can be detected by radar.
It's the processing of the return signal and catching whether or not it's important that is difficult.
Something new is 'bistatic radar.'
Basically emitter and receiver are seperated, mounted on vehicles miles apart.
However, there's a glut of info generated by this, air currents, birds in flight and such.
Computers currently available cannot filter the info yet.
But I suspsect that it will be useable soon.
I guess he fits that category, too, though I don't know how to spell his name, either :) Never seen any of his movies.
Hi, Hobbit Hole! Had to run a bunch of errands today, didn't get much chance to post; trying to catch up now.
I saw XXX with Vin Diesel and the action sequences were fun (and way unrealistic), but do not bother looking for high quality acting or powerful plots. You will not find them.
