Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Within 30 seconds of the first tiny little wahhhhh she had proven that both the bladder and bowel work. I reckon that mean she don't got elf-blood after all...

Have you tried the Buffalo chicken pizza at Pizza Hut? That's good eatin', but you want your beverage handy.

I don't really like sandals but these have enough straps to make me feel secure.
I didn't work out last night at all - did some errands with my mom and some of the sibs - but tonight I'm going to do another walk. Have to rent "Last Samurai" again, and then find something for next week's walks...

I haven't had it, but I imagine it's kinda like the buffalo wing pizza a place I used ta go to made. Romeo's...it was in Germany, but run by a guy from Chicago, I believe. SPICY, and they served it with blue cheese. Ummm! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

I don't really like sandals but these have enough straps to make me feel secure. Yeah...I don't like the ones with no back strap. One of the many reasons most Birkenstock type sandals don't work for me.
Speaking of one of the other reasons, you have kinda flat feet like me, right? If so, someday when you have money and can find 'em on sale, look for Clarkes. Seriesly. They're NOT cheap (like many "made in England" things), but so, so comfortable. I don't care as much for their dressier styles, but the ones I have are somewhere in between casual and dressy...i.e. I can wear them to church, but they look fine with jeans, too. "Springers", they're called.

I'll do that, then.
These sandals aren't mine - I borrowed them from Mom - and I'm not really sure that they work for me, but I'm sitting at a desk all day, it doesn't really matter.

kids are wanderin' in late, cuz she doesn't care... which is obvious by her lesson plans... she gave thekids a test over "The Count of Monte Cristo"... she had them read the Cliff's Notes, and the test was a group effort... I know most of these kids... they ain't lyin'...
what a day... watchin' movies... with a bunch of kids in their last days of skool... well... it could be werse...

It's not that light a top. And I'm in jeans. It's not July so I can't wear shorts... actually I don't have shorts...
I still consider showing skin above the knees to be slightly wrong. When we were little girls, Dad instituted a rule that, for a dress to be "long enough", it must touch the floor if we were kneeling.
All my dresses still pass that test.

Most classes are done here...and we can't get started on summer projects until people are gone. So it's slow.
The gorgeous weather isn't a very good motivator to work hard, either.

somebody need killin'?... I'm in. I'm in the mood.
Spent about an hour last night dealin' with pool maintenance crap. It was taken care of by the time I got there. But I got the call and had to figger it out and go check on it. (I'm still learnin' 'em that I'm not the one to call with maintenance issues).
Let's just say our dining room/office sharing ain't workin'. Gonna have to reconfigure our downstairs area again. Either that or get my shed/studio built real soon.
Confiscated me a laptop this mornin'. Been tellin' him to get it out of the living room (I fixed the wireless to reach his room, although we might still need a booster). It wuz there when he left fer skul. It ain't now.
Cancelled all muh eBay auctions. My supplier company was bein' a pain to work with. I'm cancelling the account.
Got a family reunion (wife's side) on the 23rd. Wife has to attend the homeschool graduation the day before (I also have a pool workday). But last night wife suggested I take the boys and Nana to my Mom's house on Saturday and she'd come with her sister on Sunday. I just stared at her.
I'm in a better mood than it sounds. But I'm also in the mood to slap some lie'brals.
