Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

..... and the usual excellence of said employee's boss.

I mean, he is excellent. I've noticed. But, who am I to say? I don't work for the guy.

I got a good bit done on the video project today. We are definitely on the downhill slide and it's going nicely... for now... hope I didn't just invite bad juju.

My yard just got finished bein' mowed too. No photos though. I think Tammie might be a little concerned if I went out and took pictures of her teenage son while he was mowin' my lawn! It would just seem... questionable. LOL

Don't worry... just say that you need the pictures so that you can post them on the Internet.

If you saw the teenage kid... and you were his mom... you'd worry about a woman takin' his picture mowin' her yard! Specially if she was single!

That's why it's always handy to have a backup of the temporary internet files from the bosses' computer.

'Cept, my boss is a welding machining guru. He got his first computer in his office the same time I started working here... less than 3 years ago. I just recently taught him how to find catalogues for his welding/machining supplies online. We had to go through... "okay, up in this area, you type www.whatever...." About 2 weeks after that I decided rather than run back to his office and help him find Grainger again I'd put 'em in his favorites.

So, what has that bought me with temp internet files? You gonna make some up for me that'll work? Bet ya got 'em on hand!

"I don't get the attraction Stephen feels for Villiers."

It's been long enough since I read them that I kind of forgot exactly the details, to tell you the truth, except I kind of remember liking Villiers. Wasn't she kind of cute, or something?

But I do remember that she and Maturin were not exactly who you'd expect as a couple.

How do you think Pippin did as Barrett Bonden?

Well, if the goods aren't already there they can be planted easy enough. [just kidding] I was kidding about it but the subject is way too serious.

It's one of the truly terrifying things about the Internet age that we live in. It is now possible to completely ruin a person's life and career by planting a few images on their computer, and they are left with no plausible excuse. Nobody would ever believe that they didn't put them there. Kinda' spooky, that.

He was just fine ... Bonden is an honorable sort, and I love him for the way he handles Stephen and Jack.

I adore Killick, however, and the actor who played Preserved was perfect.

Goats will eat anything, and I have considered it!

If you get a goat, get one of those "fainting goats". :)

Yeah, it is scary.

Our IT guy Jim and I kid about the same thing often. We have targets at the college that we think should have files found. It's our stress relief mechanism outside earshot of the clueless academic liberals who have never actually had to hold a real job and work. Since Jim works primarily over on the main campus he has to deal with those people on a daily basis. They are offended by his concealed carry license and his weapons collection. He argues that one on a regular basis. One of the *most* incensed over this is the dean over my area. None of us on my campus are very thrilled with her... so, we discuss these "plans." It makes it easier to deal with her and others. Sometimes.
