Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You are a sick man. I'm not real clear on what you got, but I'm pretty sure there's pills for it. :-)

I've kinda noticed that the dwarves have a real *thing* for us elf-wimmin. You tread through dangers you know not of when you suppose a dwarf will not defend a lady elf!
Dwarves, being a Nordic construct, may be of less help than you suppose. :-)
Shall we ask 'em?
Hey dwarves, I think Ramius is insulting me? Would anybody think that was worth my defense?

Yep, us Norse definitely got da Dwarves dere. Dere's also Norse Elves, plus the names of some of the Hobbits and even Gandalf come from Norse myth. And if all else fails, we've got our doomsday defense: lutefisk! Speaking of uff-da! :)

Yah... it's nigh on time for me to be bailing out.
Mebbe if they thought your honor was at stake... the least they could do would be to make an appearance at weddingmoot.
May as well say so: If anybody in the hole wishes to be at weddingmoot but cannot for cash flow reasons... there are funds available in the plan. Contact me and it can be made to happen. Please!
After all... what part of beer and beaches is so hard to understand?

I wasn't sure who to ping.
Of course, everybody has plans that might or might not work for getting to weddingmoot. Dunno.

Nice desk set up y'all got there. I like that color. It looks like the green baize (sp?) on a pool table or a craps table!
