Well, time has passed! She's an estimated 7 now. There has been great confusion over her age. When my friend bought her for her child, she was told she was six. And my vet told me she was only six last year when I had her teeth floated. I've had her 3 years, which means she was actually three years old when we plopped a kid on her.
She was bought at auction. A child rode her there in the ring and she was quiet as can be. (till the drugs wore off at home) :~\

So she's still fairly young. It takes some horses a while to settle down, and some just never do... My horse was like that. Speaking of which, I still have to dig up pictures of him for everyone.
But it wouldn't hurt to start ponying her with Bay before you pack her, just to see how she reacts. It would be good for her. :-) We used to do that with a mini that we had. He was more of a big dog than a horse, really.
