Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Eddie drives a monster truck:')
Does he think Okie's back end being there is a problem?
I just asked him and he said not really but it's good to distribute the weight. He said it just "irritates" him.
I think with two horses in there, the weight will be pretty evenly distributed. between the tongue and the axels. Maybe she was concerned if it was just Okie in the trailer that he should be farther back. I wouldn't worry about it.
Yeah. It was just Okie in at the time. He was hugging the wall. Tomorrow I guess we will sraight load again. I just need to keep working on getting him loaded. I know she's fine. Just need to do some stuff to give her more room. Okie going to find his space.
If you put him in first and tied him pretty far forward, wouldn't there be more room for her if she were tied on the same side and further back? Like a slant. She'll ride diagonally that way. Okie can hug the fron wall if he wants.
He wants to fix the gait but Eddie likes that idea. We'll try it tomorrow and see what happens. We put her in first this time so he would feel more comfortable and walk right in Haha.
Well, I'll leave you two to figure this out, I'm sure you will.
I'm off to sit on the porch for a few minutes then to bed.
See in the morning.
Becky
Tomorrow I want to check her around cars and ride the trails we walked today. My BIL called us this afternoon. He said he found a paint that looked like Okie that he bidded on for us. He said he offered 800 dollars. Eddie asked him what it was up too. Just 20000:') I know people pay it and more but it's just hard imaging any horse worth that much.
OK - try that tomorrow. I think it will work better. Take pictures if you can. stick the camera inside and show us their feet placement on the floor when they are in. Seeing them in there like that would help in determining what kind of divider might work.
night :')
Good night.
I am wanting to join my honey for some ice cream on the couch.
What's the movie tonight?
Not even sure yet!
Night yall. I'm worn out:') Thanks for the info tonight and helping me work thru this stuff.
Wow, those are gorgeous horses you have there. Love the sign too :O)
Ok, you guys'll have to humor a soft east coster like me, but what on earth is bushoging??
In response to the kick marks, it looks like someone was throwing rocks at the barn. I don't know if anyone else has responded... I'm just posting as I see 'em! :-)
