Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
I agree with Hair about the pictures. You could do a "warning" post first if you have concerns but I think all here would probably be ok with this.

I'm still here, still fighting this webtv.
I have finally disconnected all the phones that are on this line and the thing connected fine. I'm scared to shut it down tho, and plug the phones back in one at a time and see if one of them is the problem. There are 3 of them. One in the kitchen, one that shares the same connect hole as the web, and one out in the shop. I suspect the one in the shop. The box that the connect hole was in was full of muddobber nests. You think that could be the problem?

I don't know if that's the problem, but I would love to know what a muddobber is!
Oh sorry:) It's a wasp that builds it's nest with mud. They look like little blobs of mud, but they are hollow inside with eggs.

A monster truck is only for show, that one is for real. Not only can you pick up horse feed for your horses with it, you can bring the entire feed store home if you wish....... : )
I'd take a picture but it's back behind the aircompressor. I didn't particularly like reaching back there:)

She can ride.... I don't know about anything else! I did all I could!
It is "bushhog". At least that is what I call it.
Bushhogged my horse pastures today too. Only saw two big snakes this time. Accidently got one of them, flesh wound only I hope, but let the other get away unscathed.

I just came in from out back of the barn. Funny thing. I was looking for chicken eggs. But then I noticed that the back of the barn had a line of dents in it that wasn't there a week ago. When we put the barn up we ran a line of hot wire about middle of the wall to keep the horses from leaning on it and denting it all up. Any way these dents look like horse kicks. All in a line under the hot wire. I was trying to figure out why Rock would suddenly start doing that, when I noticed one dent way way up near the top. Rocky could not have kicked that high, but I can't figure out what else it could be.
