Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Anyone have any horse activities planned for the day?
I'm thinking of calling and checking how things are going with Harley. I guess I should find out next week for sure if he is sold or not.
I talked to Celia (horse friend), last night, we may run up to Robbers Cave a week from Sunday, just to see some friends who will be there doing a Competitive Trail Ride. We could get there to see check out, and the awards ceremony. That would be fun, I have't seen some of them in a year or two.

Yes:), I think I'm caught up now. This last week was crazy, hard on a 50 year old woman. I'm not doing anything next week but stay home and ride my horses.....well except for maybe Tues. I'll go watch the girls run again, but that's it....

Lol. My favorite stories are the Twilight Zone ones though. Ever seen any? I have the collection. My kids are grown now and can watch all kinds of physically gorey stuff but these spook um:')

There is something especially spooky about the Twilight Zone. I grew up on The Next Generation as a kid. My mom is a big fan. They used to show it every night at 8 on Spike, but they don't anymore. Maybe they moved it. I'm also an X-Files fan. They could have gone on and on with that if they didn't switch the characters around. Darn them. :-)
My legs are sore, and my joints need some oil. :-)
That's what I like about mowing, instant gratifacation for the work. Fields/yard look like differnt places immediatly afterwards.
