6 years ago I gave my DIL 1000 dollars for her wedding. She bought her wedding dress, cake, photos and everything with it. She and her mom were very creative and she had a beautiful wedding.
We spent $3000 on my daughters wedding, but that included the renting of a reception hall, and great food, for about 125 people.

I figure he's cost about 2000. She said her mother matched me:'). I know she bought a very pretty long gown with a veil on a half sale price, and that a lady they knew made her cake. The fellowship hall was free and her mom bought flowers and decorated. She also had a college friend that was studying photography take the pictures. She really stretched the money.
I don't know how much the catering of food was but that was probably the most expensive for her mom but I bet Lindsay shopped around for the best price there too.
IIRC, the catering for Jenny's wedding was like 8.50 a person. That was for food like cold cuts, taboli salad, fruit and vegtables, quesadillas, barbeque ribs, varitity of dips and chips. It was the best deal, with the best food we could find. It's from a local steak house we go to alot because the food is so good and the price is great.
Mack and I went there just recently. The have like courses. You start out with a relish tray with houmas dip, then a dish of taboli salad, then ribs and bologna, then a cabbage roll, then your salad, THEN, you steak and potatoe and bread. All that for like $15.00. And the steak is melt in your mouth tender.
We had Charlies rehersal dinner there. It's our favorite place. Which, BTW, brings me too ask, I thought the grooms family only had to pay for the rehersal dinner and the brides flowers???? Why are you footing the bill for the cake?? I mean that's OK, IMO, if you do pay for it, but you should get to pick it out if you have to pay? JMO:)

I honestly can't tell you... I just had a flat sheet cake and a couple special round ones, no tiers, they were professionally decorated but I have no idea how much they cost. My dad's lady friend handled the cake ordering. Early on, I had suggested something I saw in a magazine where the wedding cake was indivudual little deocrated cupcakes. I thought it was really cute. They were arranged on tiers and everything. My dad's lady friend just gave me this blank stare, a stare that I later learned meant "oh no... that will just not do" ;~D most of my suggestions were met with blank stares. They stopped bothering me with the details, I was not competent. :~D
That said, my DILs aren't hispanic so I'm not obligated but the first one had limited funds and the second one "mine" so I didn't mind helping. They are both so grateful and easy to please.
I don't know this girl very well and I don't know what she wants. She told me "whatever I liked" and then wants to see pictures first. Go figure:')
I just had a lady around the park call me. She can make a cake for 300 dollars. Getting better. I booked rooms yesterday. 92 dollars a night. Eddie almost choked. I wasn't going to tell him about the cake yet but my compadre here did and he's freaking out:')

Well, Harley had a bath. He looks so pretty with his white mane and tail. I've noticed here lately that his coat has a funny texture compared to other horses I've had. It's shiny but doesn't feel slick like Rocky's and Rusty's or soft and smooth like my mares did. Hard to describe but it almost feels like if it was long it would be frizzy, rough:).I worm once a month so I don't think it's because of that, and like I say he's shiny. His mane and tail are silky, but his coat is different. Ever felt one like that?

Maybe I'll just get her a cake with a mare and a stallion on top (of the cake). HMMMM.
Our Texas area participants are western riders. I ride English, but I traded in my old saddle earlier this year... most of the tack shops around here usually have a pretty broad selection of used saddles in all price ranges, is your friend having trouble finding one? EBay usually has many also.
My pony is rougher than Bay is particularly on her neck.... but I suspect in part it is because she rubs on a tree alot.
I'm wondering if being a lighter colored horse his coat has some sun damage, or from the saddle. It only feels this way on his back, his underside doesn't feel that way.

You haven't had him through a summer-winter shed cycle have you? Was he in summer coat when you brought him home?
How old is he?
Boy, that's for sure! That pony is going to jump that log if he has to jump sideways to do it. (ref: photo no.2)
I was taught to hunt/jump (and pay attention to a horses ears), by a Bay T-Bred, like the one in picture no. 3. BTW, his name was "Scotty". Seeing that picture made me miss him.
BTW, "HotD" thanks for the pictures. Buck is so backward he has no cable or a TV.
My pleasure... The 3-day show jumping for the team medal was this morning, I don't know who won yet, I taped it. ;~D
