Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
That's terrible.
If he would have said higher then $50 I was going to shop. I've heard he was up to $65.

When I used him in the past I always shoed every 6 wks. But back then I only had 1 horse. Now I am dividing my riding time up with 3 horses. Each horse does not get rode nearly as much as my mare use to get rode. So I am hoping I can go to every 8 wks. If that's the case it will work out about the same.
Becky
I am like you, probably... I can say "oooh I like this"...
ecurbh can use very fancy words to describe what is happening in the music... And I try to hear it, but even if I can't, I like hearing him talk about it :~D
8 weeks. Once or twice I have scheduled six weeks when they are on spring grass and their feet are really growing, but 8 weeks is usual. And I keep a standing appointment with him that he makes before he leaves.
AAHHHH , yes, did you have something to say??:)
Becky
Sorry, when I refreshed before nothing showed up in the message space.
Becky
That's what I did. Made an appointment for every 6 wks. He was always good at showing up on time for that. It was just the in between calls that I had trouble getting thru to him.
I'm using him this time with the mind set that I will keep calling till I get him, not depend on leaving messages.
I got his cell phone # this time tho:)

Trombone, or as I commonly refer to it, "God's Instrument." ;~D
I had the great fortune of meeting Keith Lockhart last year.
Very cool. Was it at a Pops concert? I would love to go to a Boston Pops concert someday.
Bump in the internet...
I really feel bad. I think I should go walk on some hot asphalt barefoot.
Bute makes a lot of pains better.
LOL at your guilt punishment... He'll get off his feet if that will help him, maybe the rubber boots now in the paddock would help if they're bruised.... If you soaked, I wouldn't even be real sure whether hot or cold would help more.
If you have Bute around, I'd give him some of that.
I was tracking some down as you spoke.
Becky
I mash mine and mix with molasses and warm water in a syringe.
A beer? Makes my husband feel better after a hard day when his feet hurting :')
Poultices work. Make a poultice and put it in a diaper and wrap his feet in it. Secure it with duct tape. If there's any heat in his feet, that'll draw it out too. He might not like it at first, but it helps. Rest him for a while too.:-)
There ya go.
Give him a beer, some molasses and some key lime yogurt, put diapers on his feet and take a picture.
We have friends in the Hobbit Hole thread that are really into pennywhistles...
