Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
LOL!!!! Out of the mouths of babes...
Heheheh... :o)
They do go through a rough lookin' phase shedding out, don't they? Especially greys that are born brown.
The injustice on the face in your second pic!
I don't know if you know this about Bay, but when we bought him 13 years ago for a friend of mine, the guy who owned him didn't ride at all. He had acquired Bay as settlement of a debt of some kind, let him live in the yard like a dog, living on the back porch and attending all the family barbecues, for the last three years. It shows, whatever we are doing, he's right in the middle of it.
He wants my coffee.... if he only had thumbs to pick up the mug.... ;~D
LOL - just lucky finger placement I think!
Yeah, I think so too. That is so cool about Bay. Eddie and I do this at the late when mosqitos aren't bad. The fire and the lights on the water so calming. Sometimes we just sit or lay out there for hours and not even talk. One of these days when I have a trailer and a pen we have talked about taking Okie. The only problem is that I have to figure a way to get over the cattle guards to ride. Eddie braining about it:') I have to check with the county too. Live stock across the street. Shouldn't be a problem but one of the neighbors might have a fit.
What's the ponys name? You may have told me before but all I can remember is "Pony" :')
"The Pony" is the only name that has stuck.... I've tried to call her a couple different things ;~D
Then I didn't miss it lol. Okie was "The Paint" for months and I still refer to him as such at times.
I let the guys on the NES name him. I was going to call him Cal but they liked "Okie"
The little boy that had her before me named her Jessica. "Jessie" for short. She was a present for him, and mom let him name her. His name is Jesse. So he says he wants to name the pony "Jessie" (Jesse sounds like Jessie). His mother says "But Jesse, it's a girl pony"... he says "I know mom, but you gave me a girl name". I thought it was hilarious that he knew that at six.
Well, funny story, but dumb name for a pony. I have since called her "Fatty Lumpkin" from Lord of the Rings, "Merrylegs" from Black Beauty.... but she recognizes only "Pony Pony". ;~D
Baybee :')
Too innocent. ;~D
"Dare-Me"
lol
Grand kids??
