Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Since your here can you tell me, if your webcam is off does it just show a black screen or is it not coming in on our computer??? I've checked a few times, but never get anything.
I've been over in the HH looking at your pictures:). Looks like fun. How long is everyone staying?

Yes, the webcam is still off.... the black screen you see is the last image that was loaded when it was left on last time, after dark. If you can see that, I bet it's working for you.
I expect they'll turn it back on up there this morning.
Everyone is here at least through Sunday, some are staying another day or two after that.

Oh, forgot, I will then try to catch the wedding, but I do have a friend coming to ride, but with the time difference I should be able to. What time will it be here? I can never keep straight what the difference is.

I've been checking in everyday on the HH....when are we going to get to see pictures from everyone. I saw Bears.

We have been very busy. Mack has been doing alot of renovating on the commercial property/building he bought. Painting, roofing, etc. So I have to run to town everyday to see the progress. He has my camera. I'm going to get it from him to take some pictures of Reba tonight. I want to see if you all think she has improved any. The guy that owns her will see her Thrus when she gets her shoes. I am not going to ride her till then anymore. She is getting very very ouchy the more I ride her. But I think what I have done has made some improvements. She doesn't look as overweight.
I also have eggs hatching today. I had 57 in the incubator:). They weren't due till tomorrow but seem to be doing ok, so I guess that's not a problem. Hopefully with as many as I am going to have now, I can some rasied to laying size before the coyotes can eat them all:(. Actually it's been a long time since I lost one, so I may land up with more eggs than I know what to do with. LOL...feast or famine.

Everyone who was here is only just now getting home. Some will be posting digital pics, some had regular film that has to be developed. ALso, we will have a time lapse gif of all the webcam images which is really campy-neat. ecurbh is working on it now. Did you see any of it on the webcam?
We have a few pics, but we don't have our official ones from the photographer yet. Bear's are probably some of the better ones we have yet, but I have the ones that various people took with my camera!
Did you see when the plane came? NO ONE knew about that.... I kept the secret, all the freepers and family there didn't know what was goin' on when the plane landed, till it pulled up on the beach!
I'll be around tonight to see pics of the newer, thinner Reba!

Yeah - we did.... float plane took us away on a scenic flight, and then to a neat little bed and breakfast about five miles away ;~D
But no one knew where we were going, or that we were even leaving at all, 'cept my dad, who came up with this wild idea. This was his finest hour!
