When William Neff died at a Pennsylvania assisted-living home in 2000 at the age of 83, a nurse listed the cause of death as "failure to thrive." State investigators later discovered that the World War II veteran, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, was severely kicked by a caregiver because he had soiled his bed. The employee was convicted of murder and sentenced in December to 30 years in prison.
.....Westy.....
Stories like that make me wish for the Old Testament, "eye for an eye" treatment of the perp...and there are way too many horror stories of nursing homes and their near-criminal employees in this country.
Cheers up there.
