Report: Fired City Manager Accused Of Setting Howell Up

An Ocoee city commissioner was found asleep inside a car with his pants down car early Easter morning, according to an incident report obtained by Local 6 News.

According to the report, Commissioner Danny Howell was spotted by an Ocoee police officer at Vignetti Park at about 1 a.m.

When an officer approached Howell's car, he noticed that the commissioner had his pants pulled down and that his groin area was covered with his hands and a white hand towel.

Howell reportedly told police that he had taken half of a Zanax that knocked him out, according to the report. And the reason why his pants were down was because he was about to use the bathroom, according to the report.

Jim Gleason, who was fired as the Ocoee city manager last month, has reportedly been accused of setting Howell up as pay back for voting to have him terminated.

Gleason denied the charge to Local 6 News.

"I have no idea why he was in a park found in the situation he was," Gleason said. "I think that's an issue he's going to have to address to the community and its citizens and also police. The implication that this was politically motivated, I find quite ironic. I'm not the one who was at a park. I'm not the one who was found in a compromising position."

No charges have been filed against Howell.

Howell refused to comment to Local 6 News.
