Wow, neat! I really want to go to one someday. Actually I want to dress up (cosplay?) but most anime chicks seem to wear a lot less than I'm comfortable in.
Maybe when I move I can join an anime club.

I'd hum it for ya, but I'm afraid you wouldn't hear it...Might be kinda hard. ;o)
We sang "O Saving Victim" at Stations today. Turned out the church was only a block and a half from the Hotel. It was great!

I dunno if there are photos. The Pt. Glass was taken out of Gig Harbor about fifteen years ago and reassigned to Florida. I think it has since been decommissioned. Not sure what ever happened to it. Maybe it's in the Bahamas.
Nice place for a good ol' cutter to retire, I must say.

Eagle's Nest Bar on Ragged Cay, populatio 80, Jumentos, Bahamas.
I never been there, but would like to go, I think. It's a good 500 miles out of Miami, I think, so would be something of a trip.

I have no idea what could be done for him. But it is a good thought. There are many like him too. I just don't know what might be best to do.Let's think about it--maybe someone experienced with veterans' groups would have a good idea on what's best to do for someone in that situation.

It's a good 500 miles out of Miami Ahh... I just like the way that sounds. :-) Set the midnight watch, review the captain's night orders, and clean the sextants for morning stars. [sigh] I miss it so.

Okay, folks, the Hobbit Hole knife auction is about to start. In order to not make it look like we're running a mini-eBay, most of it will be done by freepmail. I'll be posting the current bid prices here, but not the identities of the high bidders.
I'll be posting the pictures, and starting prices, shortly. The starting price includes priority mail, so there's nothing extra tacked on. All of the knives were within a few dollars of each other at $25. I'm contributing the cost of the exclusive "Hobbit-Hole/proto" engraving as my way of saying thanks for all of your past support of this growing project.
The Rules
1. All knives start at $30, which includes postage.
2. Send your high bid to me via freepmail. All bids, and increases, are in whole dollars.
3. The highest bidder's price will be announced as $1 more than the starting/next highest bid. That may or may not be the bidder's maximum bid.
4. When someone else then bids on that item via freepmail, I'll either tell them that they're the new high bidder, or that they are still outbid. Even though they are outbid, they have bumped the price that the high-bidder must pay to their newer bid price.
Auctions end at 2PM EDT Sunday, April 18, unless it appears completely dead, and we agree to end it earlier.
You can start bidding as soon as I put up the pictures. Since this runs around the clock, don't be concerned if I don't update the prices while I should be at work, or asleep. All bids will be processed by their time stamps.
If you have any other questions, please freepmail me.

1. Schrade SX4B, starting bid $30

2. Kershaw Vapor, starting bid $30

3. Gerber LS II. Starting price $30

4. CRKT Stiff Kiss, starting price $30

5. Camillus CUDA Arclite, starting price $30

All knives come with all packaging and accessories, except the Gerber, which came in one of those @^###^%^#@ plastic security packages, which I had to destroy to get the knife out.

It's a Jimmy Buffet song... Desdemona's building a rocketship...
it's about a bar and/or house built out of an old airplane.

Oh, I better check out that song.
Once, back in the 80's I was drinking in a bar out in the Islands, with the guy who was mating for me. After we were tipsy enough, we went walking out in the woods to see a DC-3 we heard was crashed in some trees.
We found it and climbed up to where the cargo door was ripped off and crawled in. Then we walked up to the cockpit and sat in the seats where we had a nice view of the tops of the Australiam pines.
A drug plane, of which there are really alot in the waters around here.
