Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think it already came and went.
It's sad...there were little leaves starting out this weekend and yesterday. They'll be OK, but with the cold and snow, this morning they were all hanging limp.
They'll recover, they always do when this happens, but I want warmth NOW!

Oh my goodness, this is just a terrible situation! You should call Rose, she might could help ya...
The weekend before I had Matthew, I was at work...(I worked every Sat and Sun up until I went into labor). Anyways, I had a patient code on me! I jerked the guy out of his chair by myself and started the code blue sequence, because I didn't know he was a no-code and the nurse that reported it to me failed to let me know! I mean, I had just gone in to assess him at the beginning of the shift and I find him coding!
So everyone rushes in that's on the code team, but by then I find he's a no-code. However, the guy's doc comes in and just swore at me, a whole string of profanities...used the F word and everything.
Went to the doc the next day and my bp was 140/90. Remember, I'd been a runner and my bp had been about 90/50! I was also passing protein and my hands and feet swelled all up! Had to cut my rings off!
They put me on couch arrest too, but then my mom came down and proceeded to take me with her while she went shopping (for herself, lol). Steve finally told her I couldn't go shopping anymore...

Tell me about it.
I was hoping I'd be able to plant flowers this week. Guess not.
But this is the absolute last gasp where winter is concerned. At least there's that to keep in mind.

Good for you. I'm mildly happy, since we have sunshine, and since I finally got this cd to burn right. Now I have cool Japanese music for my car.
And I'm going out tonight, and that's cool.

Actually it's more of a 'going to hang with a friend and play... um, a zombie-attack board game'. They needed another person.

I just saw one of those 'be-afraid-hook' teasers for our local news... said:
If your child suffers from anxiety now, he is more likely to suffer from more serious disorders later! See what this new study says...."
Oh yeah - that's gonna help the kid's anxiety!

There is a lot missing from the old "deal with it" parental philosophy. Of course, I suppose that's what creates the anxiety in the first place huh? Wonder how we all managed to grow up into semi-responsible adults?

ROTFL! - Now that has to be unusual! Not really...though it usually doesn't "stick" as much as it did this morning. I went to let the dogs out and kinda did a double take. ;-)
The year Margaret was born (her birthday is tomorrow), we had fairly heavy snow the whole first week of May. THAT was kinda unusual.
She's gonna be 18. Legally an adult in a lotta ways. *snif* Makes me feel old!
