Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'll be watching with the family. We said exactly the same things as the thread did, last night, with the exception that we kept saying "oh, the humanity!" as the Golden Gate bridge was collapsing.I don't think there was any humanity in that film! I'd rather have been on the Hindenberg than had to watch it--shudder!
You have mail, begging forgiveness for watching dubbed anime :)

Right now I'm watching Antique Roadshow with the sound off and listening to the Cubs game.....they were playing "Ring of Fire" between innings.

The part of the movie that bugged me the most was the herky-jerky zoom-in zoom-out camera work. At points it got so bad I had to turn away cause it was making me dizzy! It's like the cameraman just discovered the zoom control and feels the need to use it on EVERY FREAKIN' SHOT!The cameraman had just finished shooting an MTV video and thought "10.5" was the name of the group's new album.

Is the quake to be repeated? Not if there is a merciful God.

I've been watching the Pat Tillman memorial service.
There were a LOT of speakers. He brought together a fascinating collection of people.

What channel? Is it any better with the sound off? It's okay with the TV off. . .
To: Overtaxed; Wneighbor
It's NBC--right after Fear Factor. Accordingly, the challenge on Fear Factor today is that they're daring the contestants to watch the movie.
To: Fedora
That's the way I watched it last night.

Oh the humanity!

My sister's here and she keeps asking if I am really going to skip watching The Swan to watch a cheesy flick. My answer....YUP!

What's the Swan?
I'm sittin' here with only 2 students left workin' on this exam. All the others have been gone a while.... and these guys are lost. Wish they'd just give it up and admit they don't know what they're doin' and leave!
I have so little compassion!

Classrooms are no place for compassion. At least that's what all my professors taught me... :-)

Sasser hit my office HARD! Half of the payroll department was down until noon and at least 40% of the entire building was affected.
Add to that, half of my payroll team was out today (so everyone who was in had double the payrolls to run) and (oh no, the fun doesn't stop there!), our location lost its connection to the mainframe in Georgia, so even when the virus thing was sorted out, none of the payrolls were actually processing.
Long story short, we couldn't start running payroll until 2pm. Lots of fun today!! *grin*

Evenin' :-)
Perhaps I not only lack compassion, but patience as well. Last night in class. 2 students left. Obviously haven't a clue what they're doing. Shoulda been working for the last 11 weeks. Why don't they just leave now and let me start my vacation? :-D
