Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good for you! Neat to take part in such a thing!
I think we all feel better when we are doing something for people who need it. When I was unemployed and bored, I had a really good time visiting with Zulu in those nursing homes, and recruiting the others who went with me. Thing is, it turned my life around and I soon found a job that made me quit. Hopefully the others do those visits still.
As soon as we have a truck and horse trailer, I want to join the mounted search and rescue unit here. They don't want me now because I can't transport myself and would always need a ride from someone else.

From memory:
Far over the misty mountains cold,
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away, ere break of day
To seek our long forgotten gold.
Dump the crocks in a boiling bowl,
Pound them with a thumping pole,
And when you're done, if any are whole,
Send them down the hall to roll!
That's what Bilbo Baggins hates,
So carefully! Carefully! With the plates.
Somehow I think the 13 were a tad more jolly than Gimli Gloin's son ("Ish kakwi, ai gulugnul!"). Might have been the wine.

Thanks! I've been wanting to sign up for years but felt that Joshua was too young for me to be away for any length of time...even overnight. Now I feel like he's old enough and decided the time was right.
Speaking with the guy that heads it up with our church, he indicated they could use me for like first aid for the workers...that would be good, I would really like that.
See you later, time for school!

Well, the guy thought I might could do first aid for the workers...like if they are clearing up debris (fallen limbs and such) and they get a minor injury...
I imagine I'll also work food lines (for hurricane/tornado victims).
I have to go through training...I'll know more after that.
