Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm glad you're home too. :-) Long tiring weeks are just best remedied by being in your own comfortable spot.
I still haven't managed to make this place where I live now *feel* like home like that. And the old house is just too damaged to go back there but somehow, going to Grama's or Aunt Cheryl's seems to provide a kind of rest and peace that's more restorative than anyplace else.
Hope this weekend does like that for you. :-)

Found some chicken. Ah... glass of milk.Hmmmm.... well, ya know, this Texas beef-lovin' gal is pretty sad for ya if all you could find was chicken! But, since you don't seem to share my aversion to it - I suppose it's a good meal for you to have scrounged up!

Okay ... so can you coat the blade now, or alloy it, for rust resistance?

Morning! It's the weeeeeekend! We're gonna be tourists today and head down to Carlsbad Caverns. Haven't been there since I was a kid so I think this'll be fun.
Happy Birthday, Jen!

Happy Birthday!

It's not a birthday cake, but it came from the Atkins website and it'll go well with your coffee....or whatever your breakfast beverage of choice is.

Got kicked offline by the storm last night. We lost electricity a few times, and I figured it might be a good idea to go ahead and shut down :-)
Heh, I was talking to my mother last night, told her that the storm was coming her way and she needed to go shopping and park under the covered parking. Called her back at 9pm, she was still at the mall, and said that it was PACKED with people doing the exact same thing. She got home around 10:30.
PE went in to work this mornin. He has a hot project that is due on Tuesday, and he just got the specs on it Thursday.

Mornin'
Guess ya'll got worse of the storm than we did. We did have hail, thunder and lightening but no power outages.
But, mrsdrby, It's COLD here!!! You need to be in my house! I knew it was chilly last night but I only closed the windows in my bedroom, left them open in the den, kitchen and breakfast room. And I had a REAL tough time climbing out from under the covers this morning!!!

I guess I killed the thread...Well, I'm here now. All windows closed. Hot tea ready. Bundles in sweats AND bathrobe. Got clothes in the dryer to warm up the back part of the house.
So, how are you feeling the last 24 hours? It's May now!!!!
