Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

But I'd have to find writers as horrible as the ones who did the dialogue for "It Conquered the Earth".

I bet you could come up with a bad plot just by combining some of those movies. Hmmm--how's this? Someone foolishly wishes there were no more crabs, which causes Snappy the Crab Sprite to appear and take offense. He first makes all crabs disappear, devastating the ecosystem. This convinces the original wisher to reverse their wish and wish the crabs were back--and the trap is sprung! Snappy now populates the Earth with giant crabs, who, we eventually discover, can only be killed by sodium. . .

LOL!
How about a little bit of Killers From Space thrown in there too, or Refried Videos' *cough* err.. 'remake' of same movie?

The original one, yes.
Refried Videos version of of "Killers From Space" is called "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and has aliens on Earth building a giant Gay Laser with the idea of zapping eeryone.
But there's odd snippets in there, like the aliens performing surgery with odd smoking instruments, and the subject is saying, "Hey, wait a minute! I don't think my HMO is gonna cover this operation!"

Saw this humorous comment posted on the NASA thread, couldn't resist sharing it with you all:

"....Then who the hell cares if they have sex... And also make sure that they have the oldie but goodie bumper sticker. "If this space shuttles's a rockin', then don't come a knockin'!!!"

Rough seas, postponed trip to Bimini, not so much fun trying to fish while standing on your ear, at least not for 3 days in a row.

Hand em their arse posted it...I laughed when I read it though.

Well, we wouldn't have had problems, just would have been a long slow trip slogging across the stream in our open boats...'course, if something breaks when it's rough, it's always more of a problem.

We planned to anchor up there, and catch muttonfish and yellowtails, tell you the truth, it's not that much fun, my age anyway, to anchor up in 6 foot seas in a small boat. Still beautiful, though.

Here's an aquatic ape link:

there's one on FR somewhere, as you'd expect, but I can't find it.

Remember I was mentioning there's some trash on Bimini?

I find this kind of thing completely charming. There always seems to be at least one wreck washed up on Bimini. It's fun to walk around them and think to oneself: "there, but for the grace of God, go I"

I read that author's book about the aquatic ape theory once. Also saw a symposium where the theory was debated--can't remember the reference off the top of my head, though.
