Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh...the truth isn't as exciting as what we might have imagined for ya! ;-)
I have a big night out planned. Sorta. Friday nights I go to a bluegrass / acoustic music jam, which sometimes lasts until the wee hours. Usually I don't stay that late since I'm a morning person by nature (more's the pity, in some ways!), but it's still a blast.

Hey! I went back to the thrift store (I love the place) and got some more cooking implements...measuring cups, measuring spoons and such...I never seem to have enough.
I got two Anchor Hocking "Microware" dishes...you know what I'm talking about? They are sorta light brown, or tannish color you know? Hard plastic stuff? I have a bunch of it and I love it. I have plates and ramekins and a couple of bowls...
Well, I found the same stuff, one is a muffin "tin" and the other is like a bunt cake maker!
I love the stuff, it's very sturdy. Lasts for years. THIS is what it looks like...the muffin pan anyways...
Cost me .29 per piece! I love the thrift store!
I really REALLY wish I had the bacon maker...I'm keeping my eyes peeled...

Hehehe....now I just wake up before I get the claw treatment.

I have a couple of those pieces. They may be in the basement, I haven't used them in years! Or I could have sold them at a garage sale...

You bought bakeware and you're on Atkins?
To: Overtaxed
LOL Yes! I still bake for the jedis...and I make a couple of good baked items that are also low carb. They're expensive, because the ingredients are pricey though...

AH doesn't make them anymore...they just make glass items now. So I'm always looking out for them in the thrift stores.
Ummm...you wouldn't have the bacon cooker you want to part with, would ya??

But I'm thinking egg stuff...egg and sausage muffins are on Atkins, and the "mock danish" could be made in this...
I just love the cookware...it's so sturdy...what I've got is my moms, she gave it to me.

LOL!
True!
But I'd have to find writers as horrible as the ones who did the dialogue for "It Conquered the Earth".

LOL!
I wake up, usually, about the same time I feel weight winding itself slowly up my leg.

Bluegrass...I enjoy it from time to time, but neither seek it out nor know the names or reputations of its performers.
I suppose I'm rather like the person who, on hearing a fragment of Tschaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, ays, "Oh, that sounds nice. It's Christmas music, isn't it?" Whereupon the rest of us inwardly cringe...

I usually wake up when she jumps on the bed. She's gotten to where she warns me with a "meow" if she's already on it.
To: Overtaxed
LOL!
My cat doesn't meow, she trills.
But she doesn't do that before slithering on her belly all stealthily up the bed towards my nose.
She gets real quiet.
But she has a bell on her collar.

Heh...I'm not all THAT knowledgable, either. And lately it's been more oriented to "anything without complex chords that can be played on acoustic instruments". My family mostly makes 'em play Celtic fiddle tunes.
Time for eats, and then I'm heading out. See all of ya later!

Evenin' y'all. I am back.
Spent most of the day on the road, in a meeting or walking through the woods with the ticks (real bugs, not people like I was with yesterday).
Latest family news is that aunt definitely had a heart attack. They are now planning to hold off and have the uncle's funeral next weekend. Said they weren't gonna tell her it was Mother's Day.
Mrs. Stormhands pointed out that she didn't have brain damage. She'll know.
Gotta go mow the yard. Work day at the pool tomorrow.
