Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, fortunately for all of us she's growed up now. Bein' a fine wife for a serviceman so I got no complaints whatsoever. And I expect that fight in her does good with her being a military wife. At least she's got the fortitude to know what it means to fight. She was hell as a teenager but she's made a fine woman in many ways. Nobody'll ever get past her to her kids, that's for sure!

The guy who hired Sano's the same guy who was pretending to be Battosai in episode one.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure.

That zanbatou Zanza's wielding is cool.

I repent and will watch future episodes without dubbing, that I will. Don't ever lose that anibigot fury! :)

Was what you found *lemon* verbena? It is hard to find. There is a generic verbena which is a whole different family of plant... it has real pretty flowers. The lemon verbena doesn't flower big and pretty like that... it just smells like heaven! It is my absolute favorite plant to grow! If that is indeed what you found I would love to know where so I could get some more!

The pay situation is one of the reasons I want this one over. We were told the "drop dead date" (when everything has to be done) was tomorrow (April 30) but we keep getting hints that we may have to work past that date. The paycheck will depend on whether the customer is "satisfied", or not.

This is the first contract I've ever been on with such nebulous ending conditions. Usually things are much more clear cut.

Here comes the plague ship.

All rats bound for Hamburg, disembark! :) Crazy guy in sanitarium, you may escape and run around the rooftops now :)

Awww. I'm glad you're home where you belong... (well, if you can't be in Texas that is.)

Hey there... have you guys seen the thread for Bogdanpolska? It's a heartbreaker. His wife was killed by a drunk driver today. It's just awful.

Oh... that is just too easy to wiggle out of! I don't like them terms one little bit. And I'm purty sure you don't either!

Hee, I won't. It's just such a good anime, it ought to be seen right. A lot of the character is in the voice, you know, and you can just get the wrong impression listening to the dub. For one thing, Kaoru's a very nice person, not whiny. And, um, the guy who dubs Kenshin just has no clue.

Yeah, the zanbatou is seriously cool. I wouldn't like to try to lift it. A sakabatou is more my style!

Yep... I'm preparing myself for disappointment.

Even without the last check, this contract has been very good money-wise... just maybe not quite as good as we had planned on.

Tomorrow will tell!

The way Kenshin made Zanza cut the tree so it fell on the other guy was way cool :)

Hey, I was just looking up some stuff on zanbatous and found a kinda handy link--check this out:

You wrote such an articulate and kind message to him. I can't think of a thing to say. That post (197) was a heartbreak.

Yah. He's somebody that I'd started following on some threads and corresponding with. He's got that purity of heart that comes with being a survivor of horrible times. Like new citizens from despotic regimes. His certainty of spirit really cheered me up.

[sigh]

I like Kaoru. Her little "brother" is the one I see as whiny. He needs a serious butt-whoopin'!

I'd prefer the sakabatou myself. Now that I'm watching I'm thinking of picking up a bokken (wooden sword) to practice with :) BTW when you go to Colorado, there's an Aikido school there my best friend from high school (who's in the biology department at U-Boulder) attends which teaches Japanese sword.

Well, Bear, I will pray for the best for you. I am glad for the past good news money-wise and I hope it finishes that way as well. Hopefully it will all be worth your while. *sigh*

They were some big ugly hamsters, alright! And there were so many of them packed in them crates! Icky.

Knock is running the Hamburg Marathon now, I figure. Nosferatu is stalking the heroine and about to vanish into the sunlight. . .Speaking of which, Harker and Van Helsing are pretty useless in this version, aren't they? :)
