Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Good morning! Greetings from the beautiful Tularosa Basin in NM. My hotel has internet... I'm giddy. Will be bugging out of here soon to go to work. But having the HH here is like having a piece of home.

This sounds delicious! I may just try it here in a sec...

You used the equivalent of an 8th of a cup sugar...I may add another packet and another egg.

What would make me feel better would be to have the !@#$ing minibar not be malfunctioning.

Let me know how it turns out!

And remember I only made a half batch - I divided it in three cups, which it just filled, so apparently the cups they were using when they made the recipe were bigger than mine, since it made five.

woohoo... I remember that day...

btw, on the self defense bit, you are right, the most important thing is to be aware of your environment, and avoid the situation... the nose bitin' and eye gougin' just gives you an opportunity to flee if'n that fails...

congrats darlin'...

Thank you sir!

Sheesh, I've been doing this college thing for years... started taking math classes when I was 15... I wouldn't know what to do without class work! I may gripe about it sometimes, but I'm going to grad school, after all.

I will remember your advice should I ever get in a bad situation. Hopefully that won't ever happen.

I just hope you're around with a video camera the first time the kid projectile barfs and it goes down the inside of Sonya's dress.

Here's a picture of me and g'nad...I got thenewboy barf all down the front of me! LOL

G'nad, do you have barf on you too? Thenewboy was on a roll that day!

I enjoyed holding him so much, he coulda barfed on me all day.

I think I look slightly insane in this picture...

Barf stories! Oh Geesh! I dunno, but I think every parent has some o' them.

Elf-boy used to get stomach flu all the time. He would barf predictably... Every hour. You could just about set your watch to him. He hasn't done that in quite a while though (been three years mebbe). Hmm, wonder if it is his peanut butter sandwich diet???
