Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, I think Scott went to bed too... Guess I will call Dad in the morning and find out about it... It'll be in the paper by then.

thinkin' of namin' the homestead "Dogwood Ridge"...I like that a lot. When the white dogwoods are blooming, I always think about my Daddy. On the drive down the the MS Gulf Coast, you could always see the dogwoods deep in the trees on either side of the highway. Daddy always said it looked like it had snowed on the trees in there. ;o)
BTW, when's the Turkey dinner?

Yawn...g'mornin'
Got some explanation as to last night's Jr. meltdown. Showed me his report card (which he's had for a few days). Suffice it to say that there's no need to be buyin' your seasons tickets fer next year's football season. I confirmed with him last night that if he fails just one subject there will be no football. Right now he's failing Spanish and Science.
We've talked about the fact that football was all that was keeping him from going to the wife's school (homeschool academy). Maybe with the knee injury this'll all make sense.
I hate to destroy his dream. But I have been clear all year long.
And, oh yeah, since he held his report card for a while he's gettin' in trouble at school. Says "they're giving detention."
I says, "Deal with it."
You know, yesterday was a right crappy day and today ain't startin' out no better.
It's five o'clock somewhere...right?

I hear tales that teenagers do eventually regain their right minds. Stay strong and he'll thank you for it someday.
You're doing good Dad.

Gosh, that's a big turkey! I take it back...I don't think I've seen anything like HIM 'round here, though maybe they're just hiding. ;-)

G'nad; very fine turkey you got there. That's a trophy for sure, with decisions to make now. hmmm, smoked, deep fried, oven roasted, bar-b-qued. Decisions decisions.
You've got primary and secondary feathers on each wing, you're in the fletching business.
Thorin is way kewl.

I just noticed your note - sorry I'm late on this. I'll be keeping all involved in prayer.

Is it Friday yet?

I wish!At least I feel somewhat human again. Last night I had the worst migraine I've had in years. Hopefully whatever it was that caused it is out of my system and it won't come back.

We've had 70's this week....harvested my first crop of "balcony salad" yesterday....the kitty has been hanging out on the balcony with the plants.

Steve's last day of school may be tonight...if he gets to do his presentation, he won't have to go back next Wednesday...
Our yard looks dreadful in the back...he managed to mow the front but not the back. And we really don't have a garden...hopefully we can get to that now that he's done with school.

Kitty looks real cute lounging amongst the lettuce, the rhubarb and the catnip. I should take a picture.
