Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I always thought an "Arlenspector" was some kind of tool, like you might use to measure the cruddy buildup in the piping of a septic drain field.
That's not it?

I think you're right. Tool to look up someone's butt. It always sounded like that.

Sad day today in my town. We lost a policeman in the line of duty. Motorcycle cop responding to a back-up call, was hit head on in an intersection (might have been an accident, not enough info to know). He died within a couple of hours of the accident.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Oh, crap... do you know who it was? I think I told you that a good friend of ours (D's son) is a Tacoma detective. I would suppose that it is hitting him pretty hard.

Really. That is a shame Scott.
We have a Tacoma cop 'in the family' now, Dona's son. He's a detective on accident investigations.... isn't he still Ramius?
Scott, is there a news story yet?

He's on the "assault/homicide" beat now, I think. I believe he used to be a motorcycle cop in previous years, though.
Motorcycle cops are especially vulnerable. No protection, and crashes are never trivial.
Sorry to hear of it, Scott.

He did use to ride motorcycle. I agree on motorcycles.... (don't tell WN) too dangerous competing with cars much larger than themselves.

I heard that. I'm still puttering around the house. Very sleepy.
Scott, I am so sorry for this news. I have lost way too many beloved friends that way. Is very hard. Prayers for the family and friends of this man.
