"Spike to Spica and SiProPoCa". The main navigational stars surrounding Orion, starting with the big dipper. Use the handle of the dipper to "spike" out to Spica, then go around in a big circle around Orion to find Sirius, Procyon, Pollux, and Castor. SiProPoCa.
Cool!--I've gotta try that one. I can usually find the dippers and Draco and Cassiopeia 'cause I know something like that for them (based on a Spiderman comic where they were stargazing and some aliens landed, LOL!), but I'm still learnin' the ones after that.

*sigh*
I need a grill...and a place to use it. I could probably use just outside the side door where the dogs' yard is, I suppose, but it'd be tight.
Not like I need a big one, though!
You have a gas grill? And it makes stuff taste pretty good? That's prolly what I should get. We've never had anything but charcoal types, but I know myself well enough to know that I ain't never gonna use one unless I've got a guy around to get it going, and that's not happening very fast. ;-)

Good Boys Do Fine Always? Or Every Good Boy Does Fine :)
Well, one small distinction... GBDFA (Good Boys Do Fine Always) are the lines of the bass staff, and EGBDF (Every Good Boy Does Fine) are the lines of the treble staff.
And ACEG (All Cows Eat Grass) are the spaces on the bass staff, and FACE are the spaces on the treble staff.
And BEADGCF is the order of the flats, and FCGDAEB is the order of the sharps, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

Yeah, we got a VEY nice gas grill for Christmas from Hair's dad. Has a stove-type burner on the side for heating a pan of beans (or a pot of coffee when the power goes out).
I use it all the time, probably 4 times a week on average. I like grilling up a load of chicken breasts to keep in the fridge, and use on salads or sandwiches, or to make fajitas. Kebobs are good too... with some mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, onions, and meat, slathered with garlic butter and spices.
Great, I already had dinner, and now I'm hungry again.

Students working on assignments now. Projector off. Can turn off CAPS LOCK! :-)
Yeah, it would be a ways for you to drive just to grill. But, at least it has worked well for me so far this spring. I have not visited a lot with these neighbors and they have only recently extended me this offer. They did not realize until about a month ago that I live alone now. They thought Grama and Myranda were both still here with me. Now, they seem to be trying to include me in things when they have their little back yard cook-outs - which is often.

'Oro' is the happy penguin noise. Oro that you liked it! I'm not weird!Or no weirder than me, at least--hmmmm, not sure if that's a good gauge of non-weirdness. . . :)
I'll have to research the nuances of the ronin thing. He sure seems close to a ronin, though.
I agree with you and Kenshin vs. the hippy professor on martial arts philosophy. Like Kenshin said, a sword is designed to kill. You can get away with not killing/maiming if you have an overwhelming advantage over your opponent in the first place, as Kenshin does; however in that case, you can usually also avoid the fight in the first place by pre-emptively controlling the situation and out-thinking/out-talking your opponent. But generally speaking, if you get into a real fight against a real threat and hold back for fear of hurting your opponent, you will be the one who gets hurt, because your flight instinct will kick in (butterflies) and hold back your fight instinct, and you'll hesitate, and while you're hesitating, your opponent will take advantage. IMO the best rule to follow is, once the decision has been made to engage physically, you go on offense and stay on until the opponent is unable to continue. If you don't want to go that route, then learn to resolve the situation non-physically before it gets that far. So when I teach self-defense, I teach psychological engagement first, then put the physical in that context. You can avoid most situations by just walking away. Martial arts is for that small percentage of situations when you can't walk away.

If you followed those rules in anime, it would be really really boring. But good advice on real life.
I try to avoid situations where I'd have to make that choice. I'm pretty hapless at fight, so I'd have to try to run, not that I'm good at that either.

I still gotta learn some of them; but EGBDF is the first one I remember learning from my piano teacher :) I forget what she used for GBDFA.
