Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think I would like to live up there - in August. Only August though.

July is nice, too. And then all the leaves change in September and it's just GORGEOUS.
So there are THREE months. Now it's only the other nine that'd be a problem. That isn't so bad, is it? ;-)

but I think they were a bit worried about everything right about then...Maybe it really weren't right... and they were right that we were a BAD influence on you!

I think we were all in kind of a MST3K mood.Y'all are lucky I wasn't there--I watch those movies even when I'm not in an MST3K mood. . .Heck, I've been known to watch some of the movies that MST3K makes fun of in the original version without the MSTFication. For instance I made my ex-roommates watch Amazing Colossal Man once. . .
To: RosieCotton
I haven't seen it yet, either. Still watching Battle of the Planets here. Debating whether to put Malcolm in the Middle on. . .

Yes, but July and September I still LOVE in Texas!
August is the only month - maybe for about 2 weeks - that it really gets to be too hot for too long. When it doesn't get below 95 or so at night.

Well, now they got tornado sirens going off in the town 20 miles west of here. Storms headed my way. :-D
I like storms!

They showed one of the MST3K movies (non-MST3K version) once. I could remember all the quips and everything....it was still funny.

Most of them are funny even without the MSTfication. Where I used to live there was a theater that showed some of those movies to high-school kids late Friday nights. I went to a Godzilla one and everyone was MSTfying it out loud during the movie--it was a blast! I remember this part where these aliens pulled out this goofy-looking gun and I said, "Set Super-soaker on kill"--ROFL!

They never did Plan 9, did they?

To: Overtaxed
No; I think they figured Plan 9 had already been done or something. Too bad, I'd have liked to see them do that.
To: Fedora
Well shoot! If they'd do a classic like Creature from the Black Lagoon, you'd think they'd do Plan 9 or Devil Bat.

I think they did the second or third Creature, though, not the original. They generally tried to stay away from true classics, except for the MST3K movie where they did This Island Earth. Devil Bat I like in the original :)
Time for a enw thread yet?
