Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Clare saw the trailer the other day at the theater. She said it looked great. I just saw the one online; I wish they weren't so dang small! It looks exciting, though!

I know. Isn't it a shame that we don't all live in the same town or at least county or something? It would be a wonderful neighborhood! :-)

Yep.
Lotta property for sale up here, not too pricey...but I'm thinkin' at least half the folks wouldn't like the weather about ten months outta the year. Ah well.

I'm afraid I couldn't handle the cold without something to thaw me out! I would not be moving about 8 months out of the year!

Then of course we had to watch it again to confirm a skivvie sighting.

It'd definitely be a useful torture tool--that's probably how they got Smeagol to tell them the name "Baggins".
I think our Friendly Neighborhood Overlordess(TM) is watching Master and Commander.
To: Overtaxed
I missed that viewing.
Thank goodness.
I think my siblings were still in the "very confused" stage at that point. ;-) I was TRYING to explain why skivvies were such a big deal...but I think they were a bit worried about everything right about then...

"Smark"--hmmm, that's actually a cool neologism--what's it mean, though? An abbreviation for "smart aleck", maybe?
To: Fedora
Oh yeah. Forgot.
We tried to rent that, but the video place either didn't have it or it was out. Haven't seen it yet.
