Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I need to do dishes too. All mine were done when I started serving food last night. We used disposable plates and cups but I still have to clean up the rest of the stuff. I was too disgusted and pooped last night to do it. And I seldom leave dishes over night like that!

Hi/Zettai! :) The marathon runs through tonight, it's awesome! Sorry to hear you couldn't sing--I guess you're still feeling sick? B&N is always good--did you read any more manga/comics? :)
Speaking of bookstores, yesterday I found this neat restaurant inside an antique house which has a sort of rummage sale room built in, and they sold a bunch of old books and movies that some of the older customers apparently brought in. They had a pair of Nancy Drew movies from the 1930s which I got for 50 cents! Also picked up a copy of Armstrong Sperry's Call It Courage, which I haven't read since 3rd grade--great book!--you ever read it?
Good luck with the homework! Let me know how Master and Commander is--haven't seen that yet.

Well, you weren't here.
And Ruthy was.
And Sam needed mouth to mouth resusitation.
Here, I've got some leftover taquitos.... lemme give you a couple to make it better!

Did I miss anything super important?Just the truth about who's behind the socialist Elf uprising! :) BTW, did you ever read Armstrong Sperry, Call it Courage?--I was just mentioning to Jen that I found a used copy of that yesterday.

Next commercial... I think I'll be digging out the guac and chips.

Let's see. B&N - read some nice
shoujo manga - girls' comics - one called
Ai Yori Aoshi and two volumes of
Love Hina. Don't ask me why, I wanted something different.
I love Call It Courage. One of the great books of my childhood. Right up there with Johnny Tremaine. And I saw M&C at the theater - great movie - but some of us haven't so it's the movie of the night.
Oh, yeah, I'm not really sick, just congested, but I can't sing above middle C, so no good.

Well, I may pick it up and read it sometime. I REALLY disliked the movie of Jurassic Park, but thought the book was pretty good. I enjoyed this movie, though, so maybe the book will be disappointing. I did find myself constantly comparing it to Doomsday, and of course it fell short, especially as to authenticity (even my brothers complained that they could have at LEAST tried to make the language sound a BIT more archaic, even though of course it wouldn't have been practical to have them speak English in the form it would have been), but I still liked it.
As I said, though, I admit one character was a big part of that. OK, so I'm in a shallow mood this weekend...

There's also carne guisada, frijoles, salsa, guacamole and chips. That should make it better!

You aren't the only shallow one this weekend....
I think it's worse to drool over animated guys than live-action guys, though, so you're one up on me.

I think I've read "Call it Courage", but I can't for the life of me remember what it's about.
I'm bad at titles, I'm afraid.

The Elrond Body Count? Was Isildur anywhere near Ft. Marcy Park?Well, let's put it this way: Elrond's present when Sauron loses the One Ring; Isildur's dad gets killed at the scene; then Isildur gets whacked by an "ambush"; and as the ultimate result the line of Gondor goes into exile only to have the sole heir marry--guess who?--Elrond's daughter. Most of this of course happened while Elrond was Governor of Rivendell. . .

Nice play on #4,900 :) Is Timeline the movie loosely based on Doomsday Book?
