Hair; love them arrow shootin' pics, expecisally when our ambidextrous archer, draws with his left hand and still shoots two arrows off the right hand side of the bow. Draw hand fingers nicely separated to allow for a smooth releases. :-)I kinda figure Legolas had at least a 19-20 score in Dexterity--ROFL!

Yeah, 17 years of friendship does make it a tricky situation! But it might help the friendship if you can define the boundaries of the relationship and avoid the stress over the ambiguity. Right now it sounds like the physical and emotional distance are fueling some bad feelings. What's the deal--he won't make a commitment to you but he still wants to have a long-distance relationship within the boundaries of what he's willing to commit, or something like that?

That question begs to be asked right along with why the eagles didn't just fly the ring or Frodo to Orodruin in the first place!

Not as complicated as all that, Fedora! I'm a simply gal and although my life is complicated, I try to keep things as simple as possible.
Basically, he would be interested if he lived here, but since he doesn't ever plan to, he doesn't want to get involved in a long-distance thing (neither do I!).
We've been friends so long that we know we love each other dearly, so if we don't end up together, it's not as heartbreaking as if we had actually dated once.

That question begs to be asked right along with why the eagles didn't just fly the ring or Frodo to Orodruin in the first place!Exactly what I've always said! :) Of course I'm sure if you asked Tolkien he'd have come up with a cool reason why they couldn't do that :) Maybe Sauron had aerial spies watching the skies over Mordor or something--after all the eagles didn't fly to Orodruin until after the Ring had been destroyed.
