Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The "Indiana Jones" stuff really doesn't belong in LotR, does it?

"He" called me twice today. I think he sensed my "distancing" and wanted to be sure I was still speaking to him.

You're too nice, Ruthy! He doesn't deserve ya! :)

The two-arrow shot was way cool.

LOL! Yeah, Gandalf forgot to retrieve the Sankara Stones after they crossed the Bridge of Khazad-Dum :)

Hair; love them arrow shootin' pics, expecisally when our ambidextrous archer, draws with his left hand and still shoots two arrows off the right hand side of the bow. Draw hand fingers nicely separated to allow for a smooth releases. :-)

"I learned how to pilot falling ruins in Ranger school, lean forward!"

Well, here I am in a room with 7 other people quietly and non-chalantly chatting with you while they're immmersed in the movie and suddenly - I read that: "I learned how to pilot falling ruins in Ranger school, lean forward!" and burst out in a spasm of laughter while Celeborn is saying his dry spiel! :-)

Mighty cute pony!

Have you considered clicker training? Seriously, that works really well for "skeery" and high-strung animals, or those with quick reflexes that might otherwise miss a cue (like my dog.) We learned it in agility class, but there are books and tapes available, I believe.

Since nucular Galadriel part is coming... I think now would be a good time to go feed ponies!

Yeah, feed the ponies. You don't want to get yourself irradiated!

I have seen someone do clicker training on horses.... seemed to be a neat concept for them...

I have a bit of a bias against it.... there was a super silly clicker-dog-lady we used to see at dog shows ;~D

I won't hold ~her~ against the concept!

Yeah, you missed your chance. She's done. She will diminish now. And remain Galadriel.

Galadriel! - Say something unhelpful!

"You are a ring-bearer Frodo. To bear a ring of power is to be alone"

OK - I am off for a few to feed

Nu-ku-lar Galadriel was cool but too brief--I always wanted to see what Galadriel and Elrond would do if they got pissed and went new-ka-ler on the orcs. We need a Silmarillion movie so we can see some more Elf warriors in action!

It's a tricky situation, Fedora. He lives very far away and I think that is why is keeps his distance emotionally. He won't move here and I can't move there, so why bother?

All that aside, he's been my friend for almost 17 years and I'd rather have him as a friend than nothing at all.

Oh yeah, and by the way..

Galadriel! - Say something unhelpful!

Just remember, all those weeks and months when I was consistantly the top poster, Galadriel had set her precedent for me by just yammering on about useless unhelpful things! It's my elven heritage. :-)
