Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

heh... get ready to re-kindle yer heavy-equipment envy...
can I say that on a family thread/) just hooked up muh new 62" PTO-driven rear-tine tiller fer muh tractor... two words: schu weet... cain't test it fer a few days till the ground dries out... absolutely pulverizes the soil... will make short werk of gardens and food plots, and can be used fer breaking up and leveling lawns to be seeded or sodded... plan to do a side bizness of brush-hawgin, tillin' and gradin'... will post picks tomorrow...
now all I gotta get is a used 3/4 ton truck and a gooseneck trailer tuh haul the equipment on... ouch... till then I'll do werk in the surrounding area that I can drive to...

I'm still trying to work out 'Animoot'. I just found out that my Girl Cousin Reunion in MS is the last weekend of June. That shouldn't be a problem for Animoot cause that's the following weekend, right? Weren't we were talking about the weekend of July 4th? The 4th is a Sunday this year, so Rosie should be off work on Monday, right?

Whoa Buddy!!! I am impressed! After years of tillin' a quarter acre back home you've truly got something for me to be envious of now! That's outstanding! And I always thought I'd like to have a little side business like that if I had all the equipment. I enjoy doing the work.... good, honest, outside work. Just not set up to do that like you're gettin' to be.

Hey, I'm back. Any dent in the homework?

Heh, SSQ is looking for an electric boom lift. Of course he'll have to get a trailer on which to haul it, and a pickup truck for the trailer! He's loving this remodel stuff; he's getting lots of new toys! Did you see our 'Gimli'?
The next thing he wants is a rotary laser level. He saw some at the Journal of Light Construction Live show in Providence, but he's looking online for the best price. It sure would save a LOT of time!
We were in Home Depot this afternoon looking for coneectors, etc. for his air tools. He wants to create a system where he can use the tools inside if the compressor is still outside and he doesn't want to haul it in. He got some black steel pipe, and various bushings, valves, etc. Did I say he's lovin this?

No problem.
I was on my way to Port Charlotte to visit my friend Pattie and was thinking about my last long drive to Entmoot. I got a bit nostalgic and wanted to talk to a Hobbit Holer, so I called ya. When you didn't answer, I called Ramius and talked to him for about 30 seconds and hung up! LOL!!

Man I woulda loved having one of those back in my big gardenin' days! That is something really nice. Even if you just pay for the equipment it is worthwhile.
I agree with ya about that filthy and tired work at the end of the day. Amazing how good that makes me feel. Much better than the mental tiredness I get from teaching! Maybe I'm in the wrong profession.
