Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

And I learn something new every day.

Now that would be the fun part of the job! And it's good that you do have understanding people call in. I can't even figure out why the guys I work with always have to take out their frustrations on my friend Jim in our IT dept. Then, they wonder why it is, when Jim comes to our campus to fix stuff he always fixes mine first! Duh! What's that old saying about catchin' more flies with sugar? LOL

Most of the time, the struggles just add to the "interesting" quotient of this job,

It's good that you think of it that way. Means you're enjoying your job. I'm glad you ended up taking this one that you like!

I struggle with that issue of not being perfect all the time myself. Because as we all know - I SHOULD be! LOL

I just woke up from a nap, to find ecurbh was on a walk, I walked out to meet him, and 3/4 of the way around I tripped into a big heap on the ground. I don't think I was awake!

More Troop Packages!!!

Okay, here are some more photos of the packed boxes. These are photos of 3 packages, one for Tom's old platoon, one for Lt. Paul and one for Winmag's friend. The first photo has all the filler candy for the package sitting on the floor beside it. All that you see there went in the box.

The next 2 photos are of the same package. The box was deep so I took 2 photos. First is the bottom layer, then after I filled it up. That round thing in the middle of the bottom layer is the top of one of those barrels of cheeseballs.

Oops. I think I hurt my wrist handing all these boxes. It started hurting from turning heavy boxes to tape. Now it's swollen. *sigh* What a whiner I am huh?

even though you are seldom thanked there are a lot of us out here who really do appreciate the kind of help you and others like you are able to provide for us.

Aww, shucks, Ma'am!

It did always make my day when someone took the time to say "thank you." And of course I would remember who they were when they called again, and would be willing go above and beyond to help them.

Swollen? Pull a ligament? - Ice it? Really, it shouldn't be swollen just from fatigue.

Wrap some frozen peas around it! :~D

Looks great, WN!

Is Tom's platoon coming back any time soon, or were they affected by the 'stay in Iraq' thing last week?

Just finished downloading "Jajauma ni Sanenaide". That was catchy, too!--kinda bouncy, a good dance song. There was an unusual instrument in there I liked but couldn't identify, plus something that sounded kinda like a xylophone but I don't think that was it which contributed to the "bouncy" effect. Downloading the next one now. . .
