Another interesting thing about TRON... the soundtrack is by the synthesizer innovator Walter Wendy Carlos. One of them things that make you go "Hmmmmm"

No, every geek I know finds "all your base" hilarious. Heck, a lot of my fellow-geeks and I still make AYB jokes any time we can.
Besides, that test was faulty. I'm at least 86.7% geek, not 72%

Wasn't sure what you meant. Then agian, I'm operating on four hours' sleep, six cans of caffeine, and pseudoephedrine today, so I'm not that sharp on the uptake.

You've definitely got me beat in geek-lit qualifications, as well as geek computer qualifications. I might have you beat in geek films in that I watch a lot of old SF films (I've seen ones all the way back to the late 1800s!), but if you've seen Star Trek, Star Wars (not actually a geek film IMO, just happens to have a geek sub-following), and Office Space, you've got a good foundation in the basics. You'll make the upper echelons of Geekdom in due time, I just need to get you to read more comics and stuff like that :)

I've actually never seen Tron, either, I've just seen so many stills from it I feel like I've seen it! :)

I haven't seen Tron either, but I've seen pictures of people like that guy, so I think he's got the costume right.Tron's a fun movie!! But then, I just love Jeff Bridges!

True.... would be a shame if he got all the ladies' hopes up if he is taken.Sorry, didn't mean to tease anybody! :) Sheesh, I wonder what this guy would put in a personal? "If you're attracted to guys in cybersuits designed with pre-Windows animation software, you need look no further!" :)
To: Wneighbor
Gee, I can't imagine what would make you think that!ROFL!

Hey, I'm quite fond of Spiderman. That's a step in the right direction! But can you summarize each of the first 150 issues from memory and name the first appearance of each major villain? :)
And I need to get you to read some manga.
You've already succeeded!--just waiting for a chance to get to the store :)

I knew a guy when I was in AF who...you could call out the number of any episode of Star Trek, any series, and he could tell you what happened, what minor characters put in appearances, etc. It was scary.
He had trouble finding girl friends, to say the least. Star Trek was his LIFE. I know plenty of people who LIKE Star Trek (and I'd count myself among them, for the most part), but this guy was out there.

Well, it caused a big stir in classical music circles... back when he/she/it was Walter, he/she/it did a bunch of albums of electronic versions of Bach ("Switched-on Bach") and such that were quite groundbreaking. The first editions of the albums credited him/her/it as "Walter", but subsquent releasese changed the covers to say "Wendy." I saw both versions at used record stores, and became curious, so I did a bit of research. At first, I thought maybe they were brother and sister or something. Of course, when I found out, I kind of regretted my curiosity.

Hey, it's not like taking someone to see Tron or something :)
