Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

True.... would be a shame if he got all the ladies' hopes up if he is taken.

Didn't we have a discussion about Heinlein 'costumes' last night?

Hmmm--not sure I remember that. What else was discussed?

And I confess to a slight desire to look like the girl in "To Say Nothing of the Dog". (Verity, not Tossie!) Even if Victorian costuming is a little weird.

Not familiar with that one--is there a picture or can you describe?

I have to get a little exercise in before lunch here--back in a bit. Hope you're feeling better today!

All the more frightening since I've never seen Tron and have NO idea what he's tryin' for here.

I haven't seen Tron either, but I've seen pictures of people like that guy, so I think he's got the costume right.

Bet he's single.

Gee, I can't imagine what would make you think that!

Only that he isn't wearing a ring...

Oh, I see. I thought you were secure enough with ecurbh that you'd quit checking that! :-D

Haven't seen Tron?!?!?

I don't think you can really claim geek status without seeing it. Went to that movie on my first date... back in 4th grade!

I think Tron is a status requirement of the geek gen before mine.

Speaking of geekdom... I better get going on my PHP and MySQL studying.

After Hair and I finish our Scrabble game, of course.

Older than me, anyway, but that's not saying much.

Anyway, I've watched Star Trek, The Princess Bride, Star Wars, and Office Space; I think I qualify in geek-film. Even if just barely.

In geek-lit, I've got an A...

Well, I am not a qualified geek. While ecurbh and his little 4th grade trollop were at Tron, I think I was watching Black Beauty. I haven't seen it ;~D

Perhaps you are a late-blooming geek and need to get up with current geek trends.

Did you ever find "All your base" amusing beyond all reason?

Well, sure. Even geeks find "All your base" funny.

I don't think I am a geek. Only scored 48% on the test, after all.
