g'mornin' gots to leave soon for the bored meeting.
Things have settled down. Although the furniture company called at 10 last night still intending to deliver the bed. We told 'em no, which means it'll be Friday. Actually I wanted to cancel the whole order and go somewhere else (wife stopped by store last night and they were not the least bit helpful) but we'll see.
Question for the gardening types (sorry if yer a gardening type and I pinged you not). I planted some small forsythia plants last week along the back of the lot (next to the woods). They were about 2-3 feet tall.
Just took the dog out. The plants are not there. I don't think he could have reached them from his cable run. Would critters take them away?
I'm also thinking it's vey possible three little boys playing in the back yard might have done it on Saturday. We had to keep telling them to get out of the woods (Sam's bathroom)...
I'll be back around tonite.

I saw this before breakfast and just HAD to try it. It was good! And quick, which is another fine quality. I've been having omelets, so something sweet was a nice variation!
South Beach doesn't have "induction", at least not that it calls that, but it does have phases. The first phase is a bit like Atkins' on-going weight loss stage, I think, but a little stricter. No fruit, for example. Mostly lean meats, veggies, cheese and nuts. It amazes me how much that really covers, though! I haven't felt deprived, though of course it's only been a few days.
The moment of truth will be on Monday, when I weigh in for the first time and see if this is actually working. I sure hope so...

Good morning. Ish. The death flu has come back for round three - at least I feel better for a few days in between. Mom's just been sick for three weeks. I feel like if I could only get ten hours sleep I'd be cured. But that won't happen.
I just hope my voice gets better before class today. I'm supposed to do a presentation...

Ugh...you guys just can't shake that thing, can you? Hope you feel better, or at least get your voice back!
I've been lucky so far this year...keeping my fingers crossed, though I think the worst of the flu season is over.

Nope, it's the gift that keeps on giving.
Are the carb cravings better? You should be just about done with the worst of them...

Well, I figured out something...
I ate a bunch of olives for dinner...very salty. I went up 2.5 pounds! I have to believe it is water retention! I didn't cheat at all yesterday.
So don't eat anything salty right before you weigh in! LOL

No weird dreams last night, so that's positive. And I wasn't shaky and headachy when I got home from work yesterday like I was Monday and Tuesday, so I guess I'm over the worst.
Still wouldn't mind some chocolate, but I imagine that will NEVER go completely away. ;-) I don't feel desperate for it or anything, though.

When I get desperate for chocolate, I can usually find some low-carb stuff. It's more expensive and it's not quite right, but it helps.
On the other hand, after three solid days on the diet, my Diet Dr Peppers taste very sweet. They almost satisfy the cravings.

I'll keep that in mind! ;-) I think drinking a lot of water helps with dealing with salty foods.
I'm trying to stick to a once a week weigh-in...otherwise I think I'll get too obsessed with the numbers. I'm just thataway.

Oh my lands, my first three days into induction nearly killed me! I thought I was gonna die. I seriesly did. Had the cold shakes, sweats, irregular heatbeat, the works.
Then on the third day after lunch, I started feeling better. I mean, a lot better. So I checked my ketostix and where it had been pink, it had turned deep purple.
I've felt really good ever since. I mean, better than before!
But it goes slow for women...be prepared. Steve lost 13lbs during induction...Celeste lost 4. I lost 2. I've lost 4 total, which I gained half of it back from eating those olives yesterday!

Like...I had red bell pepper with my chicken last night, and I was amazed at how sweet it tasted. I mean...it IS slightly sweet, but it was almost funny tasting, it was so sweet.
Next time I go to Wal-Mart I may at least look at the low-carb chocolate. Right now I'm OK with the desserts I've been able to make, but it probably wouldn't be a bad thing to keep on hand in small quantities.

Morning!
Had liver pudding and eggses for breakfast.
I see the guy with the air problem got it solved....kinda. They ended up shaving his head after all.
To: RosieCotton
Steve likes to pour those Atkins Advantage shakes in his coffee...he uses the vanilla like a creamer and the chocolate to make a mocha...only has 1g carb in the whole can, whereas one packet of splenda has 1g.

Ummmm...."hair problem". Need some coffee.
To: RosieCotton
Wal-Mart is the place to get those. They're at least 33% cheaper than anywhere else.
The one I like best is the carb solutions chocolate bar. I have hated every one of the big fancy 'snack bars'. I go with plain candy. The Atkins chocolate bar was also not bad at all.
I am hoping to have lost all the water I put on in my last binge by the end of the week. Then maybe I can lose another couple pounds before birthday/graduation stuff makes dieting a hit-and-miss thing. Not that it has to be, of course, but if it's my birthday I want a little cake!

Sometimes called "liver mush." I couldn't find it here and brought it back on my last run. The people who make it "back home" don't even have a website so I can't link ya to it. It comes in a loaf. I'll have to check the ingredients when I get home.
To: Overtaxed
Mmmm! I love liver loaf, even the cheap kind you buy in the store that's wrapped in fat, you know? I don't like the fat...I cut it off. But I love liver loaf sandwiches...
