Yeah, the kids and SSQ like to listen to me read. I used to read the Redwall books to the kids and I loved doing the different accents of the characters in the books. The moles had a Yorkshire miners' accent and the hares had a 'veddy British' military manner of speaking!

The Evil Overlordess strikes again on Post #300! :)
Probably most fantasy writers aren't familiar enough with Asian names to use them--which leaves the field open for a fantasy writer willing to do the research. . .Building the feudal system into the story is also a good idea. You can generate a lot of plot tension by developing the conflict between the different classes--especially if you throw a romantic element in (the basic formula for all Rodgers & Hamerstein plots, drawing from Romeo and Juliet).

They're adjustin' your medication again aren't they? There's medication for this? Say... maybe that *would* help. Good thought. My Nurse er... bartender keeps upping my dosage. It's seems to be working.

I wonder if that means some of the trees are sick?It means the trees are bug infested (bark beetles) and bugs are only in dead/dying wood.... if there is a chance for them, their chance is the woodpecker.

See? And I came by it fairly!
Most fantasies I read use Latin-sounding or Germanic-sounding names. They're usually made-up names. Which is what I would do with Japanese-ish names.
Definitely the conflict is on two levels, social and romantic. Have to think things through but I like the idea. Need some visuals of the characters...

Just wait until you find a nesting pair of eagles in your trees... and they come along and tell you that the horses have to go. Then we'll see how you feel about shovels. :-)

Note to self: avoid Chicago. Chicago's actually a great town. Downtown especially. the 'projects' are easy to avoid... and rightfully so.

They would never get away with saying that. Even they have to have ~some~ basis for a threat. Eagles would be welcome here.

Why would the horses have to go?
To: Ramius
I'll take your word for it. Making a note that I can consult Ramius for research in urban warfare, not that I'd ever write a story like that.
