Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, first of all, it doesn't take very much oil! I don't pour it on. I hold my palm over the top of the olive oil bottle and turn upside down with the top covered by my palm. About that much that gets on your palm is all it takes for the bottoms of your feet. Then, after I rub it on there I put socks on for a few minutes at least.
Sounds like you're trying to use too much oil.

Sorta like that thing that happens in empty elevators when they suddenly... oh... wait... nevermind. They're adjustin' your medication again aren't they?

I'm just getting into the first book - listening to it on tape while I kinda sorta run. It's not bad. Does seem to have a lot of school-kids-running-the-risk-of-getting-into-trouble situations, which I don't particularly care for, just because I was the one who was always worried we'd get caught if we did anything even SLIGHTLY against the rules at home, so it makes me nervous. ;-)
But they're fun and pretty interesting so far.

Potter is... interesting. You can't read it thinking it's going to be the best fantasy series ever. Some of the characters are annoying, and some become that way. But now and then the author just takes you for a twist that reveals her real abilities.
Her adult characters, while not central to the story, tend to be more developed than her child-heros. This changes a little by book 5, but Harry becomes pretty darn insufferable (15 is a really bad age for boys).
At a guess, what attracts children to the story is that Harry's just a normal kid who can do magic. For adults, there's some actual depth to it. (The last three books I have read aloud to my sibs. We have a dictionary on hand so we can dissect people's names. Everyone's name means something)
I like them. The first movie was really lousy. The second movie was better and the third... well, I'll wait and see but I'm hopeful. As far as the books go, 1 was nice, 2 had good points, 3 blew me away, 4 was... sub-par, for the series, and 5 had things I loved and things I hated.

Honestly, I haven't opened the bottle yet. I am a chicken since I can't reach my feet... You should see me just trying to put socks on.

BTW, I am going to try to convince the doctor at tomorrow's visit that this baby will be born in April. Not sure if he will be too keen on it, but I have good reasons!

Okay, get PE to do it. You know how the olive oil bottles have those kinda tops that you can pour or sprinkle lightly if you hold your mouth right? Well, tell PE to just slap his hand over the top of the bottle, rotate upside down and back right-side up and rub that oil on the bottom of one of your feet. If the callouses soak it up pretty fast then just repeat the process so the oil is coated good on your foot. Repeat for other foot.
Then make him put socks on those feet for just a bit.
Really, at this time - this is a PE job!

I like that idea.A nice foot massage to alleviate all that pressure on the feet from carrying both you and the baby wouldn't hurt matters any either! :-)

I am sorry I hadn't got up to speed before I replied to ya!
I do think it sounds the same the Ogre. Irrational fear masked as annoyance.
Speaking of Zulu.... not too long ago I scanned a really 'young' pic of Zulu and was shocked at how the years had changed her. I barely remember her looking like this:

She didn't grey, she ~faded~.
