Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Some of my family arguments have been like that. Of course you were right in the argument and he was wrong, and knowing that probably helps a little, but the condescension is still irritating. Does he also get defensive about admitting when he's done something wrong?--people I've argued with who are like that usually seem to do that, too.

BTW, Ramius, Punisher featured a lot of product placement for Wild Turkey, which turned out to be the Punisher's favorite drink! When I saw that I said, "I gotta tell Ramius" :)

I can be without for a few months... sniff... I haven't tried copying the disks yet, which Fedora says is possible. And I will certainly have my manga, so I won't be completely without Romantic Tales from the Meiji Era (That's the subtitle for 'Rurouni Kenshin')

Anyway, you HAVE to watch it so we can talk about it. Though chat-view would be cooler. It's definitely better than Escaflowne, and that's saying a lot.

I usually just avoid arguing with him. And shut up if he starts off on a tangent, 'cause there's no way I'm going to convince him...about anything.

Just the way he is. And probably always will be. He's that way with everyone in the family at one time or another.

But in any case, I'm healthier than he is...he's always catching one cold or bug or another, and most of 'em pass me right by. I refrained from pointing that out, though. I'm a good girl, I am.

Maybe if I really like it, some of us here can pool our money and get it. Then we can do chat view in the future.

That could work!

Or, we can pool our money, buy a DVD-burner... 'share and enjoy'...

I think that idea's "grey area".

But...intriguing just the same.

Glad your head's doing better! I hope the sinuses clear up.

Everyone I've talked to on Atkins is reporting good results. Of course exercising as much as you are on top of the diet helps, too! :)

I'm thinking of rewatching the "Spider-Man" movie tonight. What are you doing?

The family is watching "Timeline". It's a stupid film so I've got my laptop and am only sort of watching.

Once I'm done with that, I'm going to watch a couple more episodes of "Ranma". It's no Kenshin. More than three at a time would make my head explode.

Heh...still working on that, huh? ;-)

I still think I've got too many animals and not enough money to move...at least not by August.

Perhaps instead of shipping to Rosie, I could ship to you and you can bake some cookies...

Well, the animals are a problem. Wish I could convince you, though, it would certainly be easier for me.

Yes, you are! :) I kind of like the line Jimmy Stewart said in Harvey when someone asked him how come he was so nice: "Well, I realized a while ago that you can be right all the time or you can be pleasant. I decided to be pleasant." :)

In a lot of ways, I'd really like to.

But in my heart, I think I'm still in love with the Northeast Kingdom...the woods, the trees...little rivers.

Plus two dogs and three cats! If I HAD to, I suppose I could find homes for some of them...but I don't think I could give up Tam and Fiona, at the very least.

I need to watch that movie again. It's been years...last time I don't think I completely got it. I just thought the giant rabbit idea was cool.

Heh...does it mean I've watched wayyyy too many old movies if I could HEAR Jimmy Stewart saying that line as I read it?

If you shipped to me, I'd be happy to bake some cookies :)

BTW, how long are episodes of Ranma? You know, you just reminded me, I've still got my second Speed Racer DVD that I got for Christmas that I haven't watched yet. . .

I first saw Harvey when I was really little and I mostly got the giant rabbit idea, too :) I saw it again recently at this movie theater that shows old movies, and it was really funny, too! Jimmy Stewart is one of my favorite actors.
