Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I once heard that squirrels won the Revolutionary War. The Americans were such good shots because of the squirrels.
You can tell that they don't have squirrels in Germany: in just about every WWII movie I've seen the Germans couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Now if they had had squirrels to practice on....

Guess Star Wars Imperial Stormtroopers don't have squirrels either.

Yep. Nor orcses. At least, not the Moria orcs.

But, Legolas comes from Mirkwood, and there are squirrels there - hence his prowess with the bow! Mystery solved!

Hmmm....wonder if there were elusive elf-squirrels who adapted to elf hunters. They must be the sneakiest of all squirrel species.

Can't have been that good. Bilbo and the dwarves managed to shoot one of the way through.

Maybe that one was the shallow end of the gene pool.
To: Overtaxed
Probably.
Sigh... promised to get the sibs pizza tonight and I have no cash so I'll have to go fetch it. (I don't trust delivery drivers with my credit card info!)
But not just yet.

Heh. Brought my pizza pan back on the last trip. Think I'll make pizza tonight.
To: Overtaxed
Yum. If I'm buying pizza, might as well spring for the good stuff... Pizza Hut. Maybe even double pepperoni.

Go for it.
I'm thinking sausage, green pepper, olives, onion.
One room left to do!

Hey, congrats. I picked out another thirty books to get rid of, got a little bit of junk out of the closet, but that's about it. The flylady would scold me.

Now for the laundry...

Pizza Hut? The good stuff? Are you crazy? (don't answer that)
Of course Double Daves is the best, but we don't have that around here. So *if* we order out, we opt for either Mr. Jim's "StickyFingers" or for Papa John's "The Works". Otherwise, I make it at home. I can make a better pizza than Pizza Hut at home anyday. My only problem is putting *too much* stuff on em :-)

I have peculiar tastes in pizza. I like Pizza Hut thin crust, or Dominoes - but Dominoes only right out of the oven, let it cool for ten minutes and it's inedible.
Mom makes pretty good pizza now and then but it's too labor intensive for her, esp. since she has to make about four different kinds of pizza

Mmm, maybe, but until the semester's over, I eat dinner at home all of two days a week. Plus Mom likes to have dinner on the table when Dad gets home, and I'm never home before he is.
Weekends are another matter. On weekends, I feed the sibs and my parents ditch us at dinner time. It's a fair bargain. Lets us have our space and them have their space. I wonder how Mom managed to keep from going nuts before I was old enough to babysit.

Eh. I don't feel like messing with pizza now so I think I'll do pasta instead.

Good Afternoon; in from phase II of catching rays and doing green stuff, creeping charlie removal.Dang, felt good to be in shorts and T shirt.
Pizza thread sounded good to LSA so we're ordering out too. Pizza Hut, thin, pepperoni, mushrooms and jalapenos, mmmm.
Sipping on an iced green tea. Wonderful sunny day and even a breeze.

Good day everyone!
Quiet afternoon here, we put in a temporary cross fence today so the horses can still have some of it but the rest can grow.
Then we had a nap!
