Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's an ancient Chinese curse, is it not? "May you live in interesting times". :-P

Oh, I like that! Great sentiment there. No problem identifying what's going on, either.
Any way you could link to a slightly larger version? It's a little hard to see on my screen.
I see why you needed the hands, though.

Yeah--LOL! I thought of that the other day because I was reading about some of Cap and Nick Fury's old battles with Hitler and the Soviets, and I thought the theme needed updating.

I would add a skull-stomping frame, maybe with some creative use of pigs entrails. Maybe that's just me.
Nicely done! :-)

it's good, vey good. are you going to submit it somewhere or just keep it for yourself :-)?I'm thinking of redoing it as a full-color poster. I was kind of experimenting here to see what camera angles worked best--there are some things I want to change.

I definitely think the Army, or Marines, should be there. With big guns.

Okay, I will redo it later with some soldiers added--will probably have one soldier from each branch of the service so everybody can get a crack in. Maybe one will be carrying a Hobbit Hole knife :)

Did I kill the thread? You still up?
To: Fedora
Shhhh, no, I've been in bed for two hours.
Hehehehe... just realized it's almost 1. I really do have to go to bed now. See you tomorrow... sorry I didn't get anything done today :(

For a moment I was thinknig you could put in an aircraft carrier behind the soldiers, but then I came back to reality. ships don't sail in the desert, LOL. Still, it would have been cool. Maybe instead an f-14 with a closeup on the pilot giving the go ahead thumbs-up?

All I get is the dreaded red x...
Why, you may ask, oh why is Corin up at this hour? B-i-l is coming in about half an hour for a road trip to Greensboro.
Gonna pick up the last of Nana's stuff. Did our best to schedule it so's we'd avoid any of the lesser siblings.
They're fighting over crap.

mornin corin! Hope you get to take a nap later on today. I was up at about the same time you were this mornin, but then again, I am always up for a few minutes at 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc for potty breaks. I am gettin used to it, so I guess when the baby gets here, it won't be anything new? LOL!
I am going to a job fair today, wish me luck!

Morning!
Sounds like you're going to need some Kickin' Chicken later on.
Got to get the oil changed this morning, then it's back to Operation Flylady.
To: Overtaxed
Morning... apparently wre've got flyladyitis here too, so, ugh. Got to go clean something.
