Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Hey there,
I am doing well. Elf-boy is sleeping for the moment. I'm vey tired as well. Don't know how PE is taking this deprivation of sleep today. Talk about getting up with the chickens... we were up well before the chickens, LOL!
After his surgery this morning, Elf-boy was so disoriented when he awoke that it was very much like talking to an Alzheimer's patient. I had to explain all over again (for the umpteenth time) what the dotcor did, and that he was just taking a special (drug induced) nap. He still doesn't quite get it that the cyst was cut out of his wrist, and that his arm *isn't* broken. He did ask me why the doctor "destroyed" him and brought him back fixed.
And yes, still having contractions, though not near as often. Though they are often enough to interfere with my dreams at night. Pregnant wimin do have weird dreams!!!

Hullo... back from class... you've got mail. I spent lunch at B&N looking at comic books.

Tax receipts? You don't mean you haven't done your taxes yet, do you?
I did mine last weekend. Stupid bloodsucking parasites.

I'm jealous because the nearest B&N is 100 miles from here! But at least I've got some back issues to read--was going through some last night to pick out my favorite artists for study to help me draw this comic we're working on. Also watched some more episodes of Big O and Cowboy Bebop last night. I'm starting to see how they draw manga/anime style; think I might try that and see what I come up with. Incidentally today I came up with a one-page political comic idea--will show you that when it's done and probably post it, it should be pretty funny if it turns out like I have in mind :)
To: Fedora
Cowboy Bebop is good but so dark. I've only seen a handful of episodes.
Oh, do manga-style! Or some weird cross between that and traditional comic animation.
100 miles from B&N? Ouch. You need to move to civilization. There's a B&N 15 minutes one direction here, a Borders 15 minutes in the other direction. Book lover paradise.

Then again... does the lack of a B&N correspond to, say, fewer strip malls and other nuisances? Maybe I should move. Amazon does deliver...

I moved here to get away from civilization, LOL! I like it much better than the city, but the one bad thing is the more limited library/bookstore access. But if I really want something there's always Amazon.com.
I have some ideas on how to cross manga-style with American-style; will see how that works, or the 100-mile trip which I do occasionally, as there's also a comic store down the block from B&N in Green Bay :)
Bebop only seems mildly dark to me, but maybe that's because I'm used to dark comics and animation. I guess it depends on what you're comparing it to.
