Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Could always cooperate with Soupy.
Or are you already thinking of doing that, and I'm way outta the loop? Probably? :-)

How'd that happen? Ummm...well....after a week or two of non-flylady "proceedings" and being away last weekend and getting taxes done the place looks like a bomb went off in here. Amazing how fast junk mail piles up.

I haven't had much time or money to spend on shootin' hardware, but I got these imitation ivory grips for my little S&W M60-NY.
Really nice, they make the gun feel like a full-size revolver (for four fingers, at least), and should make it easier to shoot, and hit with.

They had to be white and smooth so there's less chance of "printing" through clothes. The right side needed a bit of custom fitting, due to the pocket clip, but that was just a pleasant half-hour with some miniature files. The grips aren't cheap (none of the products from Eagle Grips are "cheap"), but the results were worth it.

Hey that's really nice lookin!
I too put better/fatter grips on my little airweight snubby.... and tried the rubber Pachmire's with the molded fingers. Thought they'd be great, but my little fingers just never line up right with the contours of them...

Oh he'll come back..... He did it to get a rise out of us! Would be a shame to disappoint him!
Hello everyone! - I am home!
Have some really crummy news.
My dad's lady friend Dona.... has come down with shingles. Shingles is an adult reinfection with Chicken Pox. If you haven't had anyone close to you come down with this, it is really bad on the hassle scale. She could be in severe pain for two months. She will feel stressed about things she really wants to do for the wedding. I am hoping it isn't too bad, and that she will accept a light wedding duty load and not feel guilty.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Hope she doesn't get it as bad as it could be...and that she doesn't take it too hard if she can't do as much.

My Dad had it last year too! On his hip and back and he couldn't lay down for two months to sleep.
Dona's may be better for sleeping but not for her pride, it's on her face and neck.
How depressing!

Oh, Hair, I am very sorry to hear about Dona's shingles! I have had family members who dealt with them and I am really in sympathy for her. Remember, anything from Thursday afternoon or Friday with the wedding Ruthy and I can help with. Not much assistance for Dona there... but, it will be there is needed.
I hope she has a short mild case, they are not only miserable like chicken pox but cause severe pain. :-(
I got chicken pox when I was 37. My doctor was thrilled that it was chicken pox and not shingles. As I had seen 2 aunts with shingles I was pretty happy about that myself.

Dona's may be better for sleeping but not for her pride, it's on her face and neck. Oh dear. My Aunt Mary's was on face and neck. And she cared a lot for her appearance. It really was hard on her. Yikes... Prayers for Dona.

Guess I can be glad we all got chicken pox?
I started it in my house. I babysat for a family and one of the little boys had a fever...which is when they're most contagious, but they didn't know he had chickenpox.
Brought it home and all of us at the time (the youngest two weren't born yet) came down with it within the next few weeks. Just about drove my Mom to distraction, trying to keep us from scratching and dealing with a whole MESS of very cranky, cooped up kids.
