Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, his tie is the most interesting thing so far....
Honestly, He's confident, and sounds OK, it's just his speech is a little flat. I hope the questions sound more ~lively~.... the half-interested have already tuned out.

Congrats, an honest 00. Way to go; listening to W on the radio.
To: Ramius
It might be me.... I am on sensory overload today and everything sounds like white noise.
I expect he will be good here on the question/answer.

Well, it's been said on the live thread that he's flat too. I was wondering what that's about.
My dad talked yesterday about that purple heart ceremony at Ft. Hood. Turned out the guy is a friend of Dad's.

2jedismom; thanks for the ping. The Major has a difficult job and doing it very well. A credit to all those who serve now, in the past, and in the future.
To: Wneighbor
Well, heck... Winston Churchill he ain't... but we knew that. It's his words, his intent, and his resolve that I think are really coming through.
I think he's more animated in the Q/A period...

Yep, that' s Maj. Wes, Celeste's BIL. Celeste is the one that introduced me to the Chaplain and the Hobbit Hole care packages got underway.
Celeste called me on the phone and tried to read the article to me and just cried.

We are saddled with perhaps the stupidest press on the planet.I don't think they are stupid.... just misinformed as to what good reporting is. They think good reporting is bird-dogging the next Watergate.

The reporter in Mysterious Island is cool.
I have that book on the brain. Only about another day's worth of reading, though. Sad.
Music night finished successfully. And I made lunch for tomorrow. Would be time for bed...but I just drank coffee. Duh...
