I've had several days when I've been able to wear shorts all day. Matter of fact, Thursday and Friday were like that though I had to wear a little more while I worked. But, alas, we were hit with the cold again yesterday. Shorts and sleeveless is so much more comfy!

The Invisibles is weird in a counter-culture kind of way, mixing various mysticisms, eschatology, cyberculture, and other-dimensional aliens. Grant Morrison admits that large parts of the plot came to him while spending several days suffering fever-induced hallucinations.
Fish Police is hard to describe. A cop, who also happens to be a fish, spends a good deal of time being manipulated by two ultra-powerful factions in a game he doesn't understand. He also doesn't understand how it is he can drink beer underwater, but he doesn't let that stop him.
I agree, Howard the Duck was weird too!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
What a cute playhouse! My Daddy built one for my just younger sister and me when we were in the 5th and 6th grades. We LOVED that place! It had running water and electricity and everything! It was a sanity saver for my Mama cause we'd spend all our free time out there instead of in the house under her feet!

Well, those do sound weird--especially the cop who happens to be a fish. I'd have to read them to compare with Badger, though--Badge was pretty out there himself :) Perhaps the weirdest was the time Badger had a martial arts team-up with Elvis and Bruce Lee to fight an evil John Belushi samurai who was working for an evil Colonel Sanders--except it turned out it wasn't the real Elvis, etc., they were Elvis, etc. impersonators. This revelation prompted Badger to finally confess on the last page of the issue, "Fine. I'm not the real Badger. My name is Lanier Lutefisk and I hail from Nova Scotia." The last panel shows Badger's wife waking him up telling him, "Husband, your costume is missing again." Badger sits up in bed yelling, "That G*dd*mn*d Lanier Lutefisk!"

It was close to standing-only at our church, too, only we got there early to stake out our pew. (We need a whole pew, after all...)
Just finished hiding eggs for the brothers. They're not the best egg-finders.

No fair taking a whole pew! :)
So where'd you hide the eggs? At first our parents usually put them in places that were easy to find--behind curtains, under sofas, in closets, places kids like me and my brothers who were used to playing hide-and-seek would obviously look first :) Later they got more clever about hiding stuff and it got more challenging :)

Maybe I could spare ya 5 or 6 of em!I'll take 'em!--around here we'll take as many degrees as we can get! :)

Let's see. Eggs went inside decorative lanterns, baskets hanging from the ceiling, the crack between stairs, in with the makeup in the bathroom, with the laundry, in a pot of Easter flowers, buried in a container of marbles... we left a few in obvious places for the little guy, though.
Actually we take up a pew plus one or two people in the row ahead. It's not too bad, though, being Presbyterians people sit in the same spot every week so we're usually safe. Just this week, with guests in, people weren't always in the right spot.

Sounds like you did a good job of hiding! :) Have they found them yet?
To: Fedora
Yes, we think they found 'em all. Did I mention my mother just loves Easter?
Sigh... grandma's being obnoxious but Mom's handling it rather better than usually. Grandma has decided to find herself a husband on eHarmony. Only she's looking exclusively at guys who are, well, ten years younger than she is, and can't figure out why we think it's a bad idea...

eHarmony looks like a scam to me from the commercials I've seen. But good luck trying to convince your Grandma it's a bad idea!--I know Grandmas can be stubborn. Mine is getting more stubborn as she gets older--the latest thing is that her vision is going bad and she's complaining she can't read like she used to, so the nurses are advising her to read large-print books and use her glasses, but she refuses!
Anyway, sounds like your family's Easter is going fun! :) What's next after the Great Easter Egg Hunt?

I was forgetting myself most of the day.
A very Happy Easter to everyone!

We had a very nice Easter dinner. Ham, turkey, and a dozen side dishes. Two nice wines with the dinner. Now it's digesting time.

Sounds like the same thing my family had for lunch! :) The wine part made me drowsy so I took a nap this afternoon after my last post. Now I'm up and checking to see what's on TV tonight other than the usual. Any more progress on your story?
To: Fedora; JenB
"The wine part made me drowsy so I took a nap this afternoon" Seems like there ought to be a football game on today, from the descriptions of dinners.

I agree! Wonder if the NFL Channel has any good reruns? :)

I'm too tired to bother writing or researching. I'm even too tired to read a good book. Later I'll watch a movie or something.
