It won't be McCain nor Edwards.

I think Kerry has already conceded the south. He can still win with a clean sweep of the "rust belt" and maybe Arizona. McCain again. Still the health issue will probably be a deal breaker for a Kerry/McCain ticket. I don't think any of us have guessed who it will be yet because the choice most likely will not be the obvious list of suspects. Hell he was even considering Tom Brocaw. I think he is looking for excitement at this point.

He could switch parties and win his Senate seat in Arizona but it would be a bruising battle. If he switched parties and ran for VP with a liberal from New England he would lose his Senate seat and Arizona for the Democrats. He is not wildly popular in Arizona. The attitude seems to be: " He's an a$$hole but he's OUR a$$hole".

LOL. No the entire "appeal" would be lost if he switched parties. That's the hook. A once in a lifetime "bi-partisan" presidential ticket. It would be at least a 2-month media orgasm. However, I still don't think it will happen due to both candidates being afflicted with cancer. It would inevitably become an issue in the final run up to the election. How is that for a Kerryesque prediction?

He could call himself a Republican but you would have every level of the Arizona party repudiating him. One headline a day over the summer. They came close before. He dislikes Bush enough to throw a spear in his direction every once in a while but would he run with the party that is making a mockery of his greatest achievement, CFR?

A national campaign would also bring to light some questionable mafia connections. Some that he doesn't even know about.

In my heart of hearts I don't think anyone knows who Kerry will pick. I just don't think it will be ANY of his primary opponents. He really needs something that will light a fire under his party and the media. All he is getting right now are very conspicuous yawns. You are probably right about McCain but it would still be a big splash. How long it would last is another question.

It will be a woman, and her initials are 'H.C.'
