A Special Breed

There is a special kind of breed,
Not found just anywhere,
For sure not in a pet store,
Nor a puppy mill's dark lair.

At shows, this breed is legion.
Its gait is quite a strut.
Its locks are full of chalk and spray,
Great withers, flanks and butt

For one exception, it would
Always win the class,
Its confirmation has a flaw,
A heart too big, yet as

The competitions finish,
It's left standing at the end.
This breed's the Lord's protector
of His creation, man's best friend.

The Dog-Walkers

Healthy, adorable
mature and kind
give country walks
in rain and shine.

Insured and jabbed
we are risk free;
our shiny coats
without a flea.

Man's best friend
shall not be bored
with our range
of squeaky toys,

And biscuit treats
to wag a tail,
just bring a lead
we're Ready Now!

Tomorrow

Tomorrow will forever be
A day I most look toward

The adventure of a new beginning
And a time not yet explored
Each day is different than the last
And offers something new
So walk a path untraveled
And get a different view
Tomorrow is the hope for more
Than what you have today
A journey through a time unknown
For whatever comes your way
Tomorrow is the future
Take time to breathe new air
Then stop and smell the flowers
Along the way somewhere
Tomorrow brings just what it will
It’s not your choice to make
Embrace it though with optimism
And, of it, do partake
It is a time to start afresh
With the coming of the dawn
Tomorrow has become today
And yesterday is gone

Crazy Chicken

Ingredients:
9-10 chicken pieces (legs, thighs)
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup lime juice
1/3 cup olive oil
1 t. garlic powder
1 t. chili powder
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper

Braise chicken until cooked thoroughly in a deep skillet with about a 1/3 cup of water to keep it from burning.
Allow chicken to set and cool after cooking while you mix the rest of the ingredients in a shallow bowl.
Place slightly cooled chicken pieces in lemon/lime mixture, turning to lightly baste both sides.

Place chicken on grill (or in broiler) about 6 inches away from heat. Allow to cook 5 minutes longer on each side, until browned, basting with more lemon/lime mixture every minute or so to keep moist.

Carbohydrates won’t be too high, even with lemon/lime juice as much gets dripped down into the grill and/or cooks off.

How Long?

Read: Luke 19:41-44

As [Jesus] drew near, He saw the city and wept over it. —Luke 19:41

Bible In One Year: Judges 11-12; Luke 6:1-26

It took years before she finally said yes. A Welshman had fallen in love with one of his neighbors and wanted to marry her. But they had quarreled, and she refused to forgive. Shy and reluctant to face the offended woman, the persistent suitor slipped a love letter under her door every week.

At last, after 42 years, he summoned up courage, knocked on her door, and asked her to become his wife. To his delight, she consented. So they were married at the age of 74!

God is also a persistent lover. Century after century He sent prophets, seeking the stubborn people of Israel. Then God sent His Son. In Luke 19, we read that Jesus looked out over the city of Jerusalem and wept because of their hardness of heart (vv.41-44).

Yet Jesus persisted in His loving pursuit. He opened the way for reconciliation by His redeeming sacrifice at Calvary. Today He is still asking sinners to come to Him, personally accept Him as Savior, and enjoy close fellowship with Him (Matthew 11:28).

If you have come to Him, rejoice that you are His. If you have not, however, you must realize that time may run out. Don't remain forever alienated from the Lover of your soul. Trust Him today. —Vernon Grounds

Why trade the hope of heaven's light
For things that please the prince of night?
Eternal glories wait for all
Who turn and trust God's loving call. —Branon

God always knocks loud enough for the seeking soul to hear.

I went to Internet Options in the Control Panel. I just looked at the settings.
Is this where you make the change? On Windows XP, do you just change the level of privacy that you want?

Have you considered moving back to Arizona? There are lots of pretty places there. We liked the Prescott area. I don't think there are many employment opportunities there; mostly a nice place for retirement.

I wanted to answer your questions.
I still have windows 98 but that is where you need to be.

Moving back to Arizona ? No, I loved it there and do miss it but the jobs in construction are taken up by wet backs.

Illegals have taken over the industry, low pay.. High enough for them but, I couldn't survive then, so I know I couldn't now.
Prescott area is beautiful and a great retirement area....

BUNSEN BURNERS

Outside our classroom we waited in the shade,
Looking at surroundings which the gardeners had made.
"Our teacher must be sick," I heard some students say,
So we have a different person teaching us today.

"Take your seats," he said out loud,
As he moved around the Year 8 crowd.
We were placed in groups of two and three,
Luckily my friends were next to me.

I looked around and saw the board change,
Our teacher was drawing something very strange,
"This is called a bunsen burner," he said, as he looked under the table,
And he handed us an object which looked very stable.

The drawing on the board was quite well done,
Then the lesson started to become more fun,
We were handed a box of safety matches
And allowed to light them in small batches.

One of my friends lit the match; the other held the taper,
I turned on the gas tap and recorded notes on paper,
Suddenly the room was full of light,
With red and blue flames in our sight.

This dazzling object amazed us all,
Our smiles and laughter bounced off the walls,
We were progressing so well, it wasn't a bore,
We didn't even use the taper anymore.

I lit the match and jumped away from the bright, blue flame,
This bunsen burner experiment was better than any game!
Suddenly the teacher said, "You have five minutes to go!"
We were having so much fun, we didn't even know.

I received my Bunsen Burner Licence, printed in yellow,
And our teacher turned out to be a very nice fellow,
"Congratulations!" he said and I gave him a smile,
My friends and I were overjoyed and could have jumped a mile.

That afternoon I went home and looked at my yellow card,
The experiment was really fun and it wasn't very hard,
I told my family what I'd done that day,
And I knew it couldn't be better any other way.

I WANT TO BE A SCIENTIST

I want to be a Scientist
I want to own a lab
I want to be a specialist
You might think I'm mad
I want to use a laser beam
I want to win awards
I want to measure gravity
and study different laws
I don't want to be a circus clown
I don't want to be a nurse
I don't want to be an undertaker
and drive around in a hearse
I don't want to be a fireman
and battle fires all day
I want to be a scientist,
A scientist of today!

MAD SCIENTIST

I went into the science lab one day,
to find my teacher slaving away.
What he was working on I could not guess,
all I know was he was making a mess.
Test tubes and beakers,
even stinky old sneakers.
Everything in a muddle,
I nearly slipped in a puddle!
Then suddenly, BANG!!
I heard things clang.
I began to choke,
as I was surrounded in smoke.
Then all I could see,
was my teacher smiling with glee.
He'd invented an acid
which I thought looked quite placid.
It had a greeny-blue hue,
(more green than blue)
When I asked how it worked,
he went quite berserk.
It went on and on,
nearly turning into a song!
Then when he stopped
he looked ready to pop!
I think he'd gone mad
which was really quite sad.
I was annoyed at how far he got off the track,
'cause all I wanted was my test paper back!
