I'm not sure that giving them matyrdom will lower our security. Here's a post on it that links to a few others and makes what I hope you'll find as arguments worth thinking over.

Each terrorist we kill is one less terrorist able to blow up innocent women and children. Period.

The martyrdom angle doesn't play. An effective martyr has to have uniqueness. A couple hundred dead guys who blew themselves up don't have any pull as a unique, focal point for propaganda or to serve as a rallying point. It's just a couple hundred dead thugs.

From another angle, if the British had hanged a hundred school teachers as spies, it would have been an atrocity among many in war. However, one Nathan Hale saying "I regret that I have but one life to lose for my country" before being hung as a spy becomes a unique event - a rallying point.

There's no glorious martyrdom for another terrorist blowing themselves up. More would follow anyway since it is ingrained in the lack of culture. Much like gangbangers blowing each other away in central LA doesn't affect the number of kids joining gangs.

Terrorists killed in the War on Terror are completely reformed and have a 0% recidivism rate.

You hit the nail on the head. For every one terrorist we KILL it saves what ? 1, 2, 10, 100 .. lives ?

They are killing themselves as a result of brainwashing by "terror leaders". Isreal has abopted the policy of killing terror group leaders. The US is hunting down and killing terrorist. Even though, I don't agree with harming innocent people, I do agree that by killing the "senior" members of these terrorist groups we save many, many innocent lives.. I also beileve that initially this will spark "revenge" type attacks, but sooner than later without leadership these groups will become less and less of a threat.

Pretty much, and makes it harder for the others to carry out operations when their terrorist teammates get whacked. Possibly it even makes new recruits a bit more hesitant.

Agreed, taking out their command structure has to hurt their efforts. The "revenge" attacks would occur whether their leaders are attacked or not. It baffles me that anyone believes that peace talks and cowering from these savages would actually result in fewer attacks.

From today's news, it looks like the Palestinians have resorted to using retarded teenagers for homicide bombings. Some desperation must be creeping in.
