I hope you don't still write "Pern" fanfic: Anne McCaffrey has demanded that fans do not write fanfic. Um, I think she's taken legal action.

That's really lame of her. I'll make sure not to pay money for her books, then--library copies only.

Yes, I think it's stupid too. There are a few authors who just don't seem fan-friendly, and then others who go out of their way for their fans. Same with tv shows and such...

Used bookstores are your friend... get the books you want cheap, without giving the author money.
