I am not sure from where they were coming. Maybe from Fort Hood? Possibly JRB Fort Worth? Were you promised a military honor guard? If so, you really have a reason to be upset.
Since Michigan has no major military facilities, it falls to the VFW to supply honor guards to those who request it. This is what happened for my father's and uncle's funerals.
Seven old guys with M1s with blank adapters, and one playing Taps on a boombox. It still broke me up.

According to the Funeral home, the funeral director set it up. He called at 9:00am Sunday and sent a fax of Grandpa's discharge papers to New Orleans to prove eligibilty, and a map of where the cemetery is. The funeral was Wednesday at 1:00pm.
